In an interview with the Gainesville Sun, Florida offensive lineman Matt Patchan had an unflattering response when asked about new UT Coach Lane Kiffin.

Near the end of a question and answer session, Patchan is asked: What would you say to Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin if you passed him on the street?

His response: "I probably wouldn’t say anything to him. I’ve got nothing to say to that guy. He’s a bozo."

Go ahead and laugh now Gator and Bama fans, because when Kiffin gets his QB in there after this season UT's going to right back into the fight for the SEC & National Championships!!

Forget this season, I'll give him a pass since he didn't have a chance to sign a QB that fits his system.

I'm a Vols fan and I thought that was funny as heck. I think he's a bozo too.

Sadly, I agree.

They will be on probation before Kiffin wins a National Championship at Tennessee.

I'll take him over what we had before though. Hell, I'd take just about anything over what we had before.

Even if he ultimately proves to not be the answer, at least him being on the sidelines means no more Fulmer.

That said, I do like a lot of the things he's done so far. He did an excellent job of recruiting, especially given the circumstances. No more soft practices. I like that the team is hitting in the preseason. I like that roster spots were open competition. I like that he doesn't have Fulmer's aversion to playing freshmen. Not only will this help with recruiting, but it's nice to know the best players will be on the field whatever their class assignment. I like that he's changed up the offense. Gone is the pedestrian "Tennssee football" as Fulmer called it. Hello, Tight Ends and Fullbacks. You are no longer merely oversized, orange decoys and blockers. I will be happy this year with a 7-5 and a lower tier bowl appearance.

I was sorta stoked about the hire in the beginning but I'm fairly lukewarm now. I am glad we made a change though just wish Kiffin didn't look like such a dumbass at times...:lol

LOL! I know what you mean but I think some of that was by design.

I was asked a difficult question earlier today...who would you rather have...Rich Rodriguez or Lane Kiffin. I honestly cant figure out which I would rather have. Both are arrogant D-Bags who are very polarizing, and both have tons of pressure to perform this year. I Think I would take Kiffin, however, bc he has an offensive scheme that is very well suited for the NFL which in the end will attract the best players, where RichRods will not IMO...however I think both will end up being good hires 5 ears from now.

I agree. The only "what if?" for both are their personalities. Of course, Kiffin came out of the circus that was/is Oakland, so I'm willing to give him some time.

I do however think that both will meet in a bowl game in the next 5 yers...just a hunch
