Seeking same page: Washington yelled as he jogged back to the huddle on Wednesday, having seen another Kerry Collins pass sail out of reach.

The long-ball timing can't be rushed, Washington said later, but added that he and the veteran quarterback are "very close" to figuring things out.

"It's kind of difficult, but at the same time, there are guys who have been playing together in this league for three, four years now and they're still not on the same page," Washington said. "Some guys throw the straight line and they get it down the field, but other guys, they throw the higher type of passes; they drop in."

In Pittsburgh, Washington’s home for the first four seasons of his career, receivers ran routes, never knowing if they were going to get the ball on a certain play. Sure, there was usually a primary receiver, but like Washington said, “He pretty much read the whole field. I think he did a good job of giving everybody an opportunity to go deep for him.”

Here, the Titans offense, under offensive coordinator Mike Heimindinger, is different. The quarterbacks have enough reads to know who is going to get the long ball before the ball is even snapped.

I just hope they ALL find a rhythm together and before the season starts. I know that's a lot to ask but the window won't stay open for long.

I think that's why Fisher wants them to play longer tomorrow night. They need to get the timing down in game situations.

Injuries: Fisher ruled several players out of Friday's game: tackle David Stewart (knee), safety Nick Schommer (hamstring), linebacker Josh Stamer (groin), defensive tackle Jason Jones (foot), Davis (hamstring) and Mouton (ankle). None practiced on Wednesday.

Offensive lineman Doug Datish (soreness), nickel back Vincent Fuller (groin), linebacker Colin Allred (ankle) and linebacker Stephen Tulloch (knee) did not practice and aren't expected to play against the Cowboys.

No mention of Kevin Mawae? Is he back now, or does he go without saying until the regular season?

Yea, he's still on PUP. Also, Tulloch tweeted that he's back 100% so I"m sorta surprised he's not playing but I guess since he hasn't practiced it makes sense.

We haven't had a consistent long ball in... I can't even remember.

He's on the PUP list, and he's aiming to be ready for the game against Pittsburgh.

KC has never been able to throw a accurate long ball! Not since he's been a Titan atleast. I don't blame Washington for yelling at him, Somebody needs to! KC is a good short yardage QB, But most of the blame has been put on the WR's in the past. I'll say this... There's going to be quite a bit of pressure on KC's plate this season! He's being paid to be more then a game-manager, And with the Titans investing in quality WR's in the Draft and in Free agents and giving him 7 Million a year, He need's to be able to stretch the field! KC had 12 TD's and 7 Int's last year. (Thats horrible). JaMarcus Russell had a very similar season with 2423 yards 13 TD's and 8 Int's. Thank god for our Running game and Defense!

We all know that's not the game plan though.

This "Game Manager" nonsense needs to go. Maybe these new pieces can hold on to the ball when he throws it to them.
