Well, I guess that dispells the theory that felons can't play in the CFL.
Update: I did a little more research. The problem is that convicted felons, even DUI offenders, can be denied access to Canada. But it isn't an automatic rule by any means. As long as Pacman fills out all the right paperwork with Canadian authorities, he should be all right.
There is a fairly new CFL rule where players currently suspended in another professional football league can't play in the CFL, but that doesn't apply to Pacman. It was put in mainly because of Ricky Williams and was brought up a lot when Vick was released from jaul.

I wish him luck, i have a soft spot for Pacman, i always will. There was a time when he was the most exciting player in the NFL, both as a punt returner and as a CB. I don't know if any football fan pays money to go see a CB, but Pac at his best is worth the money.
All i remember of him is back in VY's rookie season, we were 0-5 and stinking up the joint, we ended up 8-8, had we won our final game we would've made the playoffs. I have to say that was the most satisfying 8-8 season i've experienced. They finished up 8-3 that season with a rookie QB, a young team, and a 2nd year stud CB/KR. The game against the Giants is one of my favourites of all time. He and Vince were a bloody army that day, Vince on offense, and Pac on defense and special teams.
I'll get lambasted for saying this, but i hope he makes it back to the NFL, i hope he's successful, and i wish he were still a Tennessee Titan, especially today with this team, with this talent.

I noticed something interesting about this article. If you paste a part of it on a forum like this, it automatically adds "For more info, click here" at the bottom, with a link to the article.
I just thought that is pretty cool. I prefer that a lot more than the web sites that prevent copying and pasting altogether.

The last arrest was the Vegas strip club incident in Feb 2007. (shooter is still awaiting trial, and once that's over, the lawsuit trials can begin)
However, he has had several incidents since then. You had the strip club shooting in Atlanta in 2007. You had the lawyer being threatened by Pacman in December 2007/Jan 2008 when she went to the police and then suddenly dropped everything mysteriously. And then you had the Pacman fight with his bodyguard in a Dallas hotel bathroom in fall 2008.

So it's almost been a year... maybe the longest stretch so far. I hope he's learned his lessons, because it means he's actually able to learn and there won't be any more victims, either.

The CFL doesn't qualify as a topic for "Those OTHER 31 Teams". I think this topic should be moved to the "I'm a hack that couldn't cut it in the NFL" forum.

He will play decent enough in the CFL that when the season ends in November, some NFL team looking for depth @ CB will give him a shot..

Players who play in the CFL cannot play in the NFL the same season.
The article disagrees.
UFL players are prohibited from jumping to the NFL prior to Dec. 1, but CFL players can depart earlier if granted a release from their contract. Murphy said Jones has led him to believe that he wants to play the remainder of the season, which ends Nov. 8 (Nov. 29 for the playoffs). But he added: "Nothing is written in stone."
Fletcher and Robinson said there are no restrictions on Jones returning to the NFL this season. "He's eligible now, meaning today's date, to sign or play with an NFL team. He's in good standing with the NFL office. There's nothing pending, no restrictions." The NFL office confirmed that Jones is good standing.

The article disagrees.
Article XXXII of the CBA says differently:
Section 1, CFL Rule: No Club may sign any player who in the same year has been under contract to a Canadian Football League (CFL) club at the end of that CFL club's season (regular season or postseason, whichever is applicable.)
Maybe if the Blue Bombers release him he can play in the NFL? But I have never seen it allowed previously.

"In good standing" but also on double secret probation.
I don't miss him, but wish him well. One thing for sure, nobody was in their seat when he went back to catch a punt. :D

That seems to coincide with the news article. So he could play some in the CFL, but as long as he gets released before their season ends, he could play in the NFL.
I think the CBA rule is in there so that NFL teams won't jump at CFL players at the end of their regular season. That's a good rule, since the two seasons don't start and end at the same time.

Either the Canadian government wouldn't let him go to Canada, or the Winnipeg team realized what kind of headache a guy like Pacman can cause to a football team.
Either way, it's another low for Pacman.

Is there a record in Guinness for exhibiting the most absurd, asinine, and completely idiotic behavior one can to derail a promising NFL career that I'm unaware of?
There must be, and Jones must be trying his damnedest to break it.
