Titans tight end Bo Scaife is not taking part in the team’s offseason program and might skip all of the workouts unless he gets a long-term contract, according to sources familiar with the situation.
Scaife, designated as the team’s franchise player in February, has not signed his tender and is currently not under contract.

This is awful news. I really like Scaife. I am surprised this is the first we heard of it.

It’s not uncommon for franchise players to skip their team’s offseason program, however, in an effort to get leverage toward a long-term deal.
Like that ever works with the Titans.

unless bo leads all te's in receptions or td's or somethin like that then i dont think he will be a titan after this year:sad

Never should have franchised him.

i agree the fo should have just gave him a descent contract instead of using the ft on him. when your te leads your recieving core in catches then you need to reward them not stick it to them.

He will get at least top 5 TE pay for this year, not sure what that will be, but it can't be too bad.

This is a non story. He's not new to the offense and he'll report by the time the season starts. He's trying to get himself a long term deal, but I think he feels he's worth more than he actually is. He isn't that special of a player and doesn't even deserve to be paid like a top 5 TE like he will be this season.

I think he is a solid threat in the passing game. He probably wouldn't be the leading reciever on any other team, but I think he proved his worth to us last year.
This news saddens me because it sounds like we have had a really good turn out at the voluntary workouts this year and I'm not happy Scaife isn't a part of that.

I think that this is a non-issue. Scaife will most likely report in shape, and have another productive season. Which will result in him either getting the money he wants from the Titans at season's end, or the ability to test the free agent marketplace.
I am begining to think that this FO is clueless about using the franchise tag.

Well overpaid.
For a guy who all but disappeared down the stretch...at least for my fantasy team.

overpaid and over valued. I wouldn't have paid 4.5 for 2 years let alone one.

He and VY can move back to Austin next year and be roomies !:crazy
He's not "special" enough to act like a Primadonna. Solid but not outstanding.

That, and he'd better PRODUCE this coming season!

excellent money, and being the top receiver on this team really isn't anything at all. I'm the best dancer in my office... but i work with a bunch of old oil guys. get it? I like Scaife, but I don't like this threat.

Scaife will show up in shape and get his 40 catches like he always does.

He better be the 2nd best TE in the NFL for that money.

Things in the NFL are being moved in mysterious (read: greedy) ways.
