They also sign Torry Holt so Cutler will have some one to throw to.

It still amazes me how many people want to trade for guy that isn't much of a team player, loses almost every big game he has been in, and has never had a winning season in college or the pros.
In his three years, he is 5-10 in the month of December (compared to Vince's 8-2 record). His college record in the last 5 games of each season was even worse.
I think Cutler is a huge gamble for any team wanting to trade for him.

I completely agree and I don't think the market is going to be as big as some think. He's been red flagged by several teams with a need at the position.

I guess he was supposed to go score 60+ points the last big game he was in.

That game should have never mattered.
The Broncos scored 19 against the Chiefs, 17 against the Jags (at home), 7 against the Patriots, 17 against the Dolphins, 10 against Oakland (at home), 10 against Carolina, 23 against the Bills (at home), and 21 against the Chargers in their 8 losses.
They had some high scoring games certainly, but there were some low scoring games that cost them the playoffs.

Since you want to go there......
Chiefs rang up 33 points
Pats rang up 41
Dolphins rang up 26
Oakland with 31
Carolina... 31
Buffalo... 30
I'm noticing a trend here. The JAX game I'll give you, the rest not so much Not even Vince Young has a winning record when his defense allows that many points per game.

Isn't it weird that Denver had the #3 defense in 2005, #8 defense when Cutler joined in 2006, #28 defense in Cutler's first full year in 2007, and #30 defense last year?
Why did their defense decline so rapidly? I don't really remember them losing key players. Was it just switching from a Fisherball type offense to a pass wacky offense?

I gotta admit, I never wanted Cutler. But I am surprised by you 309, with your love of Vandy and all. I was watching 1st and 10 today and they were debating what a pass he is getting about not getting bashed and how T.O. or Ocho Cinco would be raked over the coals for this type of behavior but all the teams want Cutler. For the record, I still don't want him. All he has done for his whole career is be the "best player on a perennial loser" in college and pro (althought in pro they weren't losers until he got there).

I think my attitude comes from the disappointment I have had in him. I was really hoping he would become my favorite non-Titan and replace Peyton. I was really excited for him to go to Denver, and I thought he would be a success.
Instead, I see the same QB that lost to MTSU and failed to bring Vandy a winning record. He did it against the 49ers in 2006 and the Bills in 2008.
I also think Vince has a lot to do with it. These two QBs are going to compared (as well as Leinart) for their entire careers, and our team picked Vince. I am going to defend our team's pick, and with him struggling, I am going to stress Cutler's faults as well.
Seeing Cutler miss the playoffs this year has really turned me off of him. Bus Cook has turned me off. And his attitude during this whole time has turned me off.

I can see that, even some Broncos fans are faulting his lack of win, justified or not, his attitude and his agent. Although I am not sure you can defend a guy who lost his job adequately.

I just don't see why Bus Cook hasn't been called out in the media the way they do Rosenhouse. He seems to have a pattern of blowing up a team.

As is being bandied about by many today, including John McClain on 104.5 the zone, Cutler is 13-1 when that awful Bronco's D gives up 21 or less.
Do you know what Cutler could do with a team that plays D like the Titans? And perhaps his losing record might have something to do with his team's defense.
Just a few thoughts.

All I know was the defense was excellent before he showed up, and then it has gone downhill each year.
That seems to indicate that his type of offense may be making the defense struggle.

Interesting. Cutler does play a fast, risky style. I hadn't really considered that. But thinking about it, it seems like he might actually be a huge contributing factor to the defensive decline of the Broncos.
I think I'm going to have to rethink my desire to see Cutler in two-tone blue.

Thought I'd bring this thread back considering....Jay to Randy? If "Ifs" and "Buts" were candy and nuts we'd all have a merry Christmas!! Blame this non-debacle on Buds love for Vince
I'm not a big fan of Cutler... but I would take him hands down over what we have in our QB stable right now.
