I love the SEC, and I do think this is a great conference. But I just don't know about the polls.

1. Florida
3. Alabama
4. LSU
18. Georgia
21. Mississippi

Plus Auburn and South Carolina are two of the top three teams in the "others receiving votes" category.

Alabama is the only team that has actually beaten a ranked team (#6 VT). LSU has struggled with Washington, Vandy, and Mississippi State. Georgia lost to the only ranked team it played. Florida hasn't played any tough games, and Ole Miss already has a loss.

At least these teams will start playing each other soon. LSU goes to Georgia this week. The following week Florida goes to LSU and Alabama goes to Ole Miss.

They are the best conference this year IMO but only bc its a pretty down year overall for all of the conferences. IMO the big 10 will be the new power conference in the next few years and I'm not really trying to be a homer.

To me, this is more of a down year for the SEC. I think the Big 12 can match up with them pretty evenly, as far as the top teams go. I still think Florida is the top of the polls but can be beaten. After watching the way Tennesse played them, I feel they're still real good but not the team they were last year. Not taking anything away from their play, just that other teams have a better vision of how to prepare for them.

I think it will be a much closer game in the NC game if the SEC meets the Big 12 again.

As much as I like Penn St. I really didn't think they were deserving of their high ranking they had before the loss.

If you had to watch Big 10 football week in and week out, you wouldnt be asking that question. The SEC is really that good.

Well besides LSU, Those look about right. LSU shouldn't be quite that high if you ask me but they're still pretty good.

I look at Auburn. They beat LA Tech, Mississippi State (badly), West Virginia, and Ball State.

I look at LSU. They beat Washington, Vandy, LA-Laffayette, and Mississippi State (in a squeaker).

Why is one of them #4 and one #27? Is it just because LSU won two on the road and Auburn played all 4 at home? Both teams sucked last year, so preseason rankings shouldn't play too much of a factor.

Oh i completely agree, Auburn has looked waayyy better than LSU, neither should be #4, but i'd say they're both somewhere in the 15-25 range.

I am in shock that UT is favored in this game. What in the heck is Vegas seeing that I am not?
