The Titans will reportedly hold extension talks with contract-year DE Kyle Vanden Bosch this weekend.
Vanden Bosch turns 31 next month, so the Titans aren't going to offer him an especially long deal with much guaranteed money. He also does not have a sack on the season, though he has been getting good push off the edge.

I like KVB but i think Keith should get the first talks as far as that goes. Heres to getting the deal done with both of these guys :toast

I hope they do! If we can lock up both KVB and Bulluck! It will open things up as far as who we draft this year! If only we could get this QB problem straightend out! Then Eric Berry or Taylor Mays wouldn't seem like a reach! I'm pulling for best DB on the board! Or if we can land CB/KR-J.Arenas in the 3rd. I wouldn't care what player we took in the 1st! (Yeah i would, lol.) DT-Ndamukong Suh!!! sounds nice.

Meh.
For all the "KVB's motor never quits" talk, to me, he's been somewhat exposed as mediocre without Big Al to open things up for him.
I don't mind him sticking around, but I would not open up the coffers for him. Sign him cheap if you can, and if he wants big money, let him walk when his contract's up.

sign him, i love watching a guy that runs straight upfield and never pressures a quarterback
dont get me wrong, hes a great guy but he has done absolutely nothing this year
save the money for the true leader of the defense keith bulluck and let him finish off his career here in hopes of having a great bounce back year next year after this season's disappointment

Seriously...i had to look at the date of this thread to see if this was a joke. Please let KVB walk unless he signs for hometown discount.

Funny thing is I remember others were saying that Al was only good because he lined up next to KVB. I thought it was nonsense then...

This weekend should show you guys that not everyone on the team has to be the greatest. This weekend should show you that it is important to have role players around that will give it their all as long as they can get on the field.
Having his energy and intensity on the field and in the locker room means a lot to a team and we would be much better off if we had a team full of him. Even if they aren't nearly as good as they used to be. All the talent and ability in the world does you no good if you decide that you have given up and aren't even going to try and use it.
I don't think he should get any sort of big deal or anything and I doubt he expects all that much.

I only want him back if he comes really cheap. I'd rather have Bulluck back and then just rebuild the defense from there.

I want him gone. Nothing against him, just age and production aren't good. Youth movement!

If this gets done, I'm ok with it.. We will find some other rushers to fill in for Javon when he leaves... Never hurts to have a veteren pass rusher. This might also open the option of franchising Keith so...

wouldnt be surprised if we didnt resign him, especially if he wants adequate pay which in titans terms is overvalued/overpaid. we dont need team leaders, only steals
this post was meant for keith bulluck
i though the title of the post was KB, sorry about this
about KVB, let him go
It will probably rest on how badly KVB and KB want out of town. I'm going to say they will ask for big bucks and we all know this FO does not pay big bucks for anyone.

good news, but if i had to choose between the two, i will choose bulluck , his leadership both on and off the feild is impecable and something the young guys need i feel!

I'm not into any extensions right now with anyone, including Bulluck. We have a cancer in the locker room, and to be honest, I'm not sure it hasn't metastized into every player and coach at some level.
We may be in significant need of a monster cleanout in January, similar to what Denver just did and Atlanta the year before.

Anyone know what Big AL has done in Washington?

This team could get the same production from Ford and Hayes that it is currently getting from Vanden Bosch. Unless the Titans actually start blitzing, stunting, and moving guys around it won't matter who's playing end.
Bulluck is more important, but he probably wants to leave due to seeing a future of failure in Nashville.

Is it beyond the realm of possibility that if we had made him a genuine, realistic offer two years ago, before we franchised him, he might be happier playing here, and feel like he belongs?
But after getting absolutely low-balled by this organization, and then being left with no sane choice other than going mercenary and taking the big bucks for the Redskins, he would have no motivation, no sense of pride.
I'm not saying for sure he'd still be the monster he was, but I can't help but feel he might have felt some loyalty to this team if it had shown any to him. But once it was clear we weren't going to even entertain the thought of paying him, it became all about the money, and once he got it, he'd have no real motivation left.

Resign as cheap as we can now, then trade them in the off season now that the trade deadline has passed. A team will much more be willing to trade for a player with a small cap number, so we might be able to get something for them instead of nothing at all.
Washington has Albert now, maybe they'd part with a decent pick for KVB since he & Albert worked good together here, especially if KVB's cap number is low. Same with Keith.
Beats losing them for nothing but a comp pick.

I don't blame him for doing what he did, but he's not doing anything at Washington.
He's doing no more better than KVB is here in Tenn.
I disagree with the comments about KVB is nothing without AH and AH was all that. The way AH has played this year one could say the same thing about him. That without KVB he's nothing.
I think they complimented each other very nicely. Now that AH is gone KVB has been double teamed more than when AH was here.
I don't think KVB deserves an AH contract but neither did AH.

I'm starting to think AH was the ultimate contract player - based on what he's done in WSH? I'm sure Skins fans feel the exact same way, only they're praying the cap goes away, so they can somehow bury that beast of a deal.
