Well, the apology was apparently too little, and too late.

The Chiefs have announced that running back Larry Johnson has been suspended.

A year suspension sounds about right. (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/10/27/chiefs-suspend-larry-johnson/)

Jamaal Charles is better at this point anyway IMO.

Yea, I don't know why they just don't release him. he pretty much sucks anyway

He sucks, but the offensive line sucks as well. He's owed $4.5 million if he's released now. They may be keeping him on the roster in order to avoid a grievance from the union.

Jamaal Charles has fumble issues. Dantrell Savage is undersized, and Jackie Battle is an unknown. Kolby Smith is coming off the PUP soon; he may be the one that they turn to.

Allow me to comment on his "remarks". I'm going to generalize here, so don't flame me too badly. It is MY opinion that men who make anti-gay remarks, or worse, attack homosexuals, have deep rooted "issues" of their own. I'm not saying that LJ is a closet queen, but why make the remarks in the first place ? I have had a few gay friends in my lifetime and NEVER felt threatened, or "uptight" about their, or my sexuality. I also have friends that are EXTREMELY homophobic and have questioned them about their lack of logic and security. I think if you want to insult a man, you do it by attacking the subject at hand, or question their maturity. It's 2009 and I for one am sick and tired of gay bashing. Check that, bashing of ANY kind, unless we're talking about Jags fans...

Odd how he's appealing his suspension. Too bad the league doesn't step in and hit him with one.

Funny, it makes me think of Nator ! I'm KIDDING N, just joking ! OMG, I think I'm a hypocrite now. Is there a twelve step program for wise asses ? Yeah, I know, they have a ten step program, a left and right to the face !

I see no problem really with what he said...it was a dumb choice in words but whatever. its like saying "this is so gay" where gay is being subbed for a word like boring/lame. I'm whatever about it.

And there is the problem. It isn't the same. You are using someones sexual preference as a negative word. That alone implies that it is negative.

I say it occasionally in front of my gay friends(I have a few) and they say it too. I have asked them about it, and they say they hear other gays saying it too alot. So its whatever. I will say it whenever I feel like it. call me an ignorant POS but as long as I dont get called out for it and as long as I know Im not offending anyone I will say it.

Do those things ever work?????

Define work...it gives the fans some illusion of control or an outlet for their opinion so in that sense maybe yes?

The Chiefs won't be any worse with Johnson deactivated for the rest of the season. Too many holes to fill on the roster this offseason.

It would actually be a pretty good move since they might not have portis for a while with his concussion
