What do you predict this season?

I predict Michigan to make a big splash this season if everyone can stay healthy. Manny Harris is all-american potential. Sims is a beast at his SF/PF hybrid position. They bring in a highly recruited PG in Darius Morris, and return their best legit bigman Cronin who was out almost all season. Also, its another year in the beilein system which should produce more results.

C=Cronin
PF=Sims
SF=Harris
SG=Lucas-Perry
PG=Morris

I predict 23-25 wins and a top 6 seed in the tournament. And another prediction: more psycho ex-wife-esque WVU fans will continue to flood michigan forums about how glad they are to be rid of richrod and beilein. Even tho richrod was the best thing to ever happen to their football team and beilein laid the foundation for what huggins is doing.

edit: a good read

I think UK will lose 3 or 4 games and at tleast make it to Indy. After watching them in person tonight vs. Clarion, though it may be lesser competition, this team is phenomenal..an Bledsoe didn't even play and Orton left with a chest injury.

It will be interesting to see this team develop over the course of the season. Can't wait to tsee the full lineup play against Miami (OH).

Also..I predict Patrick Patterson to win the SEC MVP and the National Player of the Year. He's very good, unbiased.

He'll also be on 1st-Team All-American along with John Wall.

IMO wall won't be An all American. If rose wasn't an all American at Memphis, wall won't be either. Wall is pretty much a poor mans rose as he is much more raw than what rose was coming out of hs. Wall will be good but he isn't on roses freshman level yet.

Connecticut basketball.

Right before the Final Four loss to Mich State last year, "Yahoo" came out with a story about too many cell phone call to a recruit that never even played a game at UConn. Darius Miles. Not much has become of the story but the NCAA is crawling up their ass all pre-season while they investigate. Nothing to date has come of it. They will be young this year and are probably a 4th or 5th place Big East team at the moment. Young teams are tough to judge as we are playing cupcakes all pre-season.

That will be a great measuring stick for the Huskies to see where they are in comparison with the big boys. UConn is loaded with athletes but very young. A.J. Price and Hasheem Thebeet have moved on to the NBA. Love the early season non-conference matchups.

I disagree. Coach Cal has publicly stated that Wall is ahead of Rose and Evans at this point in their respective careers. Maybe not at the end of Rose's freshman year..but right now.

He'll be a fun player to watch either way. I'm excited

I just go by what I see in film I have seen of them. Not highlights, but actual game tapes. Either way, he better be a grizzly next season. Conley is not getting it done.

BTW, its so weird seeing players from this years freshmen class knowing they are all younger than me for the most part (born after 8/31/90)

Im just nervous about michigan's schedule...they at kansas and have a home and home with MSU, Purdue, and OSU. Then add in UCONN and you have one hell of a schedule. Either way I see it shaking out as a 24 win team:

vs. Northern Michigan W
vs. Houston Baptist W
vs. Creighton W
vs. Boston College W
vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff W
at Utah W
vs. Detroit W
at 1 Kansas L
vs. Coppin State W
at Indiana W
vs. 16 Ohio State W
at Penn State W
vs. Northwestern W
vs. Indiana W
vs. 12 Connecticut W
at Wisconsin W
at 7 Purdue L
vs. 2 Michigan State L
vs. Iowa W
at Northwestern L
vs. Wisconsin W
at 25 Minnesota L
at Iowa W
vs. Penn State W
vs. 23 Illinois W
at 16 Ohio State L
vs. 25 Minnesota W
at 2 Michigan State L

Thats 21-7, but once you add in the 2nd round of their tourney in a few weeks which IMO they advance to and win before losing in round 3, and then 2 wins in the big10 tourney in march you get 24 wins. I see them as a sweet 16 team most likely.

Good to see Michigan spank Northern Michigan today. My boy Harris got the first triple double in over 2 years...not even the fab 5 had a player get one...man I sure would like to combine that team with the current team...that combo would be perfect.

C-Chris Webber
PF-Juwan Howard
SF-DeShawn Sims
SG-Jalen Rose
PG-Manny Harris

Anywho this team this year looks great so far. And the recruiting class next year is awesome already and they might even be able to add a 5 star in there. In 2011 the class is looking loaded.

UConn struggled with an undersized, undermanned Colgate last night in the NIT Tip-Off classic 77-63. Not good. They play Hofstra tonight. UConn's front court will be a weak spot.

I was talking about last Friday night, not the mess that was Monday. I agree with you on the ranking. Had Meeks come back, I would agree with a top 5 ranking.

#24 Vandy had a good win over Arizona yesterday in the 5th place game at the Maui Classic. The free throw shooting was horrible (15 of 29), but they shot 53% from the field, including 7 of 20 3-pointers.

They really needed this game. Losing to Cincy was ok, since they beat Maryland and lost to Gonzaga in OT last night. But the win over host Chaminade didn't mean anything. This win made the trip worthwhile.

Boston College next week for them too.

IDK what happened to Michigan...they started 3-0 and are now 4-3. Injuries are mounting and they are attempting more 3's than 2's...which is a sure fire way to lose.

You have more faith in the game then I do. I figured we would spilt with UConn and UNC. If we show up like we did in the first half against UNC it could be a good one.

Nice game and congrats 723!!!! That was a true brawl in the Garden. No question the kid Wall was the difference tonight. He is the real deal. Patterson is a warrior as well.

This is one of those games that can only help as UConn enters Big East play in a few weeks. Kentucky is good and the scary thing is they will only get better.

I tip my cap!

Maybe that is what they need for a jump start 777? Man, Purdue looks like they are going to give the rest of the Big 10 trouble this year. They are tough.

That blonde girl is Christina Auguilera and so you might expect to see it a few more times. I would say they will run it to death.

I'm trying to be happy for Kentucky fans but the truth is, it annoys the heck out of me.

I don't know what's worse...obnoxious Tennessee football fans or arrogant Blue Misters.

Sure, the fan base is not all people like that, but there's enough to get on my nerves. You know, like the ones walking around my wife's work place in Kentucky this week - grown men, business executives - high fiving in the hallway in the middle of the day shouting "We're Back, America, We're Back!"

Gimme a break.

Parddy
12-10-2009, 10:03 AM

Christina Auguilera would be a very nice looking young lady if she'd leave all the bells and whistles alone and let her beauty stand for itself.

I kind of get tired of the overkill look she has.

UT does not appear to be slowed down at all with the loss of their 4 players. They crushed Auburn last night (though it was about even at halftime).

Vandy is a solid 2-0 in the SEC with a home win over Florida and a nailbiter road win over Alabama. They travel to South Carolina tomorrow, and those games almost always go to the wire.

Also congrats to the Vandy women for winning a huge game over previously undefeated Georgia. :thumbsup The Vandy women had two very disappointing SEC games in a row before this win.

Vandy wins by 10 on the road over SC, while UT and UK squeak by their opponents (also on the road).

I am just glad Devan Downey is a senior this year. He is a scoring machine, getting 35 of SC's 79 points tonight. :ohmy He does that about every time these two teams play.

#1 Texas also squeezed by Texas A&M in OT tonight.

Michigan has completely fallen apart this year. Pretty sad bc this was supposed to be THE YEAR they make a deep run in the tourney. With Simms and Harris providing 20 ppg each and a better surrounding cast than last year.

Instead, Manny has become a ball hog who is suspended now for an altercation during practice. Sims has become a wuss who cant defend. And the rest of the players have somehow gotten worse.

Unless the team turns it around quick. This season is over. Manny will be back most likely next year for his senior year. But Sims will have graduated. The incoming freshman class is pretty good, but they will only be freshman. It's been a tough year.

Combined with the hockey team sucking as much as they have, and we wont even mention that disgrace that wears the winged helmet. Michigan is in a terrible slump.
