Brees has my top vote so far.

I have always believed that the MVP is a player who is nearly irreplaceable on their respective teams. Does Minnesota still win if Favre is out? Yes. We all seen that Brady doesn't mean much in NE. That comes down to NO and Indy. If you take either one of these QBs away then the teams are devastated, but I believe if Manning is gone the the Colts become the Lions.

1. Manning

2. Brees

I don't know TruTitan...IDK if Minny wins w/o Favre. I always sorta like Tavaris Jackson but let's face it they weren't winning that much with him. Favre would be having an MVP season except Brees and Manning are captaining unbeaten teams. CJ to me is the best player in the NFL right now. But our record is not that good and he won't get it....truly sad. I'd have to go with Brees.

CJ only has a chance if the Titans make the playoffs.

I would rank them like this:

1. Manning
2. Favre
3. Brees

Brees just doesn't have to do as much as he had last year. The defense is really helping the Saints out.

Manning just keeps winning close games with late drives. He has to be the clear-cut favorite.

Favre has turned a good team into a Super Bowl contender.

I'm not of the opinion that you "penalize" a player because the team improves a weak aspect. The Saints D has been good but the Saints would be nothing without Brees. To me he and Manning are too close to call and I'd give Brees the edge the same way MDK did. :lol

The Vikings do have AD and Percy Harvin so to me Favre is #3 amongst them.

CJ is just on another level altogether and it's so sad we didn't do better earlier in the year.

Percy needs favre alot more than favre needs Percy. Ap is doing alright but just watch favre. This is arguably his best season ever and his completion percentage is nearing 70% which is rediculous. His interceptions are waaaaaay down at record lows for him and he is on pace to flirt with 40 touchdowns maybe, which is more than he has ever thrown even in his 3 MVP years. Then you add in the fact he took the Vikings from a probable 9-7 or 10-6 season this year possibly with Jackson to a 14-2 legit superbowl team that could probably beat the colts and saints if they played right now. And I hate to dwell on this but he is 40 years old too and also essentially walked on to the team only 3 weeks before the season started and mastered the playbook it seems already. It's just a good all around story kinda which I think the voters will like.

I don't disagree but I still think the Vikes could win games without Favre. They also have an excellent D. But I think the Colts and the Saints would be nothing without Peyton and Brees. You can also say Favre made Sidney Rice too. In truth all 3 are having great years and I won't complain if anyone of them get it. I just prefer Brees.

Brees, however if the Titans somehow manage to go ten and six. CJ should be hands down MVP.

You can make a legitimate argument for Manning, Brees, or Favre.

Based on what I've seen so far - and that's very important - I'd say Manning. I agree with TruTitan that take Manning away from the Colts and they're not even a decent team.

I don't think you can accurately assess the MVP situation until the season is over. A lot can happen between now and then. Either of these players could be injured or their teams could tank in a hurry. There's always the chance that Favre pulls the same disappearing act he did last year in New York as well. After 11 weeks last season he was 245-347- 2461 - 19 TDs -13 INTs. Not quite as good as his numbers this year but he was helping the Jets win games. Over the last 5 games of the season he was 98 of 175 for 1,011 yards, 2 TDs and 9 INTs.

Interesting article but I seriously wonder how well Jemele Hill truly remembers Favre's MVP run in the 90's to make such claims. Those three years he was as good as any QB in the history of the game if not better.

Peyton Manning. Just think about this for one minute, and the choice becomes very easy. Jim Sorgi, starting QB.

Brett Favre
They never would have won this many games with inconsistent Jackson at the helm.

When he signed critics asked, whose he going to pass too. The bad hands gang? (same thing I hear about Cutler, he has no one to throw to)

No one disses this crew today. They have elevated their game with Favre

Surprisingly Peterson isn’t putting the fear of God into defenders. Yes he can break off a long one, but he’s also losing yards - while he still wants to run into and over defenders as in the past, it is often he who gets knocked on his ass on the first tackle (compared to CJ who has amazing yards after initial hits and has been able to create space for himself). In the Baltimore game Adrian was useless at the end when they needed him to pound out yards and kill the clock. The defense had turned to butter in the 4th QT. It was Brett who time and time again put points on the board and got that victory (and that D I wonder about. Have they been tested? The Pack and Ravens both exposed weaknesses in them).

The Vikes are now mixing it up with different backs and getting good results with this. But this is a different team with Favre, the confidence and maturity with which they play. If Tavaris was asked to pick it up when the run game slows, he couldn’t do it. He couldn’t have lead this team the way Favre has.

Also, he’s not taking so many silly risks. He’s still a gunslinger but he’s finally learned to be a smart gunslinger. I’ve been a Brett fan for many years (so yes, I might be biased) and I thought he’d shown me everything he has. But he has impressed even me with his performance and leadership.

Who I think will get the MVP...

1. Favre- if he wins at least 1 game in the playoffs.
2. Manning- if the Vikes do not win a playoff game.
3. Brees- if the Saints win the SB.

Who do I think should get the MVP?

1. CJ- if he breaks the single season rushing record.
2. Brees- What he's done in New Orleans is nothing short of amazing
3. Favre- as much as he annoys me (although not as much as Manning), He is having a career season at 40 years old!

Count, they vote for MVP right after the regular season ends. The playoffs aren't included.

And since I wrote my glowing support of Brett - the offensive line has hit the crapper, Favres stats have dropped and he's pretty much out of the race. The Vikes look really bad in those recent losses, I mean really, really bad. I guess you take out Brett and they really didn't have much else going for them.

Looks like -yawn- Manning again as MVP.

CJ has 2 more weeks to make his case... if he gets the record and Titans make the playoffs, I think he'll get it.

I think that's definitely a possibility and would love to see it happen. But right now, the Colts' quest for the perfect season will overshadow it. If Indy drops a game (either straight up or by sitting guys), I think CJ gets more play.

Good case: In the October Pats/Titans game, he ran for 100+ yards. In a huge loss.

The man is an immense talent.

With Brees, Manning, Favre, and CJ all losing in week 16, does this change anything?

I do think CJ is out of the picture now, even if he gets 250 yards against Seattle. No playoffs = no MVP.

Manning probably strengthened his case this week. The Colts are just so bad without him.

My updated list:
1. Manning
2. Brees
3. Favre
