Windermere police chief Daniel Saylor told The Associated Press that officers found the 33-year-old PGA star laying in the street with his wife, Elin, hovering over him.

She told officers she was in the house when she heard the accident and "came out and broke the back window with a golf club," he said. "She supposedly got him out and laid him on the ground. He was in and out of consciousness when my guys got there."

Pure speculation, but he and his wife could have had a bad fight and Tiger got into his SUV and hit the gas getting out of there and then lost control.

For the first time ever, I actually now like Tiger. Why? Because we've discovered he's not a cybourg.

He did what any of us what do if we had the chance (well most of us). His hot Swedish wife churned out two kids, wasn't as hot to him anymore, so he decided to go check himself into any hot chick that was willing....

Here are my thoughts.

1) Between golf, the travel etc. where did he find the time and the frigging energy to have multiple affairs with multiple hotties. I mean, I come home from work exhausted, and I just put together highlight packs of the work guys like him do. I can't even bother turning on porn, I just want to sleep.

2) He discovered what every man already knows. In the battle between brains and your genitals, your genitals will win every time out. The winner and still undefeated champion of ALLTIME. Sex.

Seriously, is anybody really surprised here? He's young, good looking, rich, a world traveler and has a 4 hour a day 4 days a week job. Beautiful women worldwide are throwing themselves at him. No penis alive could withstand that sort of temptation. Ooops, did I say penis? I mean no man alive, yeah, no man alive could withstand that sort of pressure. Men tend to forget that one brain controls both.

Then he should never have gotten married. If he wants to screw around that's his prerogative but he has a wife and 2 lil babies now. What if he gave his wife some crappy STD from one of those ho's? Or even worse something deadly like HIV.

Oh, and I'd be willing to bet good money that Tiger would go ape**** if Elin ever screwed around on him. Those of you who are married or who have girlfriends should ask yourself if you really think temptation is limited to the male gender. Temptation works both ways and it's not limited to the young, rich and famous either. Tiger acted like a selfish asshole if you ask me.

I should stay outta this thread....:lol

I wasn't trying to be a buzzkill lol. But reading all these athletes whining about how they can't get away with anything because of the public scrutiny sorta ticks me off. Honestly, if Tiger wants to screw around then fine just don't treat us to any self righteous self serving statements about how your "celebrity" makes you a target. The police asked Tiger's wife how many times she hit him. "I don't know exactly...put me down for a 5."

Phil Mickelson contacted Tiger's wife to pick up tips on how to beat Tiger.

What's the difference between a car and a golf ball? Tiger can drive a ball 400 yards.

What were Tiger Woods and his wife doing out at 2:30 in the morning? They went clubbing

Tiger Woods crashed into a fire hydrant and a tree. He couldn't decide between a wood and an iron.

Ping just offered Elin an endorsement contract for her own set of drivers; to be named Elin Woods..."clubs you can beat Tiger with."

Tiger just changed his nickname but still kept it in the cat family--his new name?: Cheetah

Tiger was driving an Escalade, can he blame the accident on his caddy?

Hello Mister Woods this is the On Star operator we have detected that an angry person has put a golf club through your window, we are contacting Nike for a new club.

Who among us doesn't hear a car crash and immediately grab the closest golf club we can find??!!

Tiger's new movie: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Hydrant.

Q. What do Tiger and baby seals have in common?

A. They both get clubbed by Norwegians

Did you hear Tiger is teaching his wife to golf? I don't know how well
she is doing but apparently she can hit her driver.

Sounds like Tiger's extracurricular activities are causing him to
develop a slice. Too bad it's on his upper lip.

Looks like Tiger's wife took out her frustration on Tiger with a
bitching-wedge.

Seems he forgot his Daddy's profound advice, "Tiger, you'll never be successful until you learn to play one hole at a time."

I'm having a lil trouble feeling sorry for Tiger. Still not liking him blaming the media for his own actions. But I do feel sorry for the family and at this point I do wish the media would give it a rest. But it's kinda hard to do that when his jump offs keep selling their stories to the tabloids.

The only reason I feel bad for him is because of this perspective. (http://www.statecollege.com/news/columns/the-arrested-development-of-tiger-woods,281175/)

Still, he has to own his issues and it's probably taking every bit of this craziness for him to realize he has issues. Hopefully he'll get it together and very soon, before he ends up like Mac :sad

That was a great commentary and ties in with what I posted about owning his issues.

I don't think you and I are talking about the same thing. I don't feel bad for Tiger because of the media, I feel bad for him because of his issues. Just like all of us, he's a product of his upbringing and environment. And just like all of us, it's his job to resolve it. I hope he does, just like I'd hope that for anyone.

I think we just disagree on how much weight to place on "issues" being responsible for what Tiger did here. I would hate to see what happened to Mac9 happen to anyone...whether famous professional athlete or my mailman. It all just goes back to personal responsibility to me. He knew what he was doing was gonna get him in trouble and he did it anyway and he got caught. I know how he was raised but at some point you become an adult and you are responsible for your own actions. I'm not entirely comfortable with the whole "his childhood and upbringing absolves him of his bad choices" card. Not that I think you are saying that he should be entirely without fault but don't you agree it's a fine line?

As far as Tiger the professional I still think he's the best golfer in the world. He's the best golfer I've ever seen. What has happened in his personal life will not affect how I view him professionally. He doesn't owe any of us an apology all that should be between him and his family.

His issues, whatever they are and however many, are 100% responsible because HE is his issue, and of course he is 100% responsible for his actions.

I'd argue that he either didn't know he'd get in trouble or didn't care at the time. That's usually the MO of people who feel entitled. It's usually when they get caught and feel the consequences, that they realize they have a problem(s) they are 100% responsible for resolving. It takes what it takes for that to happen.

I'm not in disagreement with what you're saying, I'm just coming from a different angle. I'm not looking at fault, I'm looking at the process of resolution. It's a challenge for anyone and only those with courage will navigate their way through it, survive it and thrive. I have a lot of compassion for anyone that chooses to go through that process, and I hope he's making that choice right now.

TTP77
12-08-2009, 12:24 PM
I'm not looking at fault either. I don't care that much about Tiger's personal life one way or the other. Parddy baited me into this whole thread to begin with with that whole men have penises and cannot control their actions line! /rationalization

What ever issues he has i hope he resolves them too but mostly i hope he resolves the personal issues with Elin and the rest of his family because more than anyone they are the collateral damage here.

I just don't understand how you can fault Tiger for the actions of his penis? Just doesn't seem fair. Where on the evolutionary ladder did it say one brain could control two heads?

I'm not fully convinced that there is a full understanding here with regards to the power of the penis.

Yeah, she said it. :)

That being said, I refuse to buy into any crap that rationalizes or even explains his behaviour. There is nothing acceptable about it. Forgivable yes. But cmon. Being serious for a minute, the man cheated on his wife likely dozens of times, even while his wife was likely breastfeeding his children. To call that distasteful is an understatement.

Tiger was supposedly raised by strict god-fearing people that had straight-up values, so that argument is also out the window. Maybe we just now know the truth. The guy is a schmuck. I'll still watch him play golf because he's the greatest ever to play the game, and no he's no axe-murderer, but at the end of the day, its hard to find a 'pity' card for him, and thats with me taking off the sports glasses and the microscope. I've been married for 6+ years and as much as it may shock you, I have never even considered cheating on Lesley. Not because temptation isn't out there, but because I believe in the concept of family and respect. And this is coming from someone whose dad left him as a teenager because he didn't want to be a father anymore. So the role model wasn't there for me, but I didn't need it. I know right from wrong. End of story.

I don't know if you were talking to me or to everyone in general, soooo....

There's an explanation for virtually everything. An explanation does not make something acceptable or not, though many people think that's the implication. It is what it is.

Here's the bottom line for me, folks:

I didn't bash Mac and I'm not going to bash Tiger (or anyone) for their issues. I'm just going to hope they live to see another day, try to make amends.

I gotta say, Tiger must be dreading the thought of stepping onto any PGA tournament right now - he is gonna get a very different reaction. I also wonder if Dan Hicks/Johnny Miller and Jim Nantz will remove all Tiger porn from their bedroom walls now and actually try a different approach to golf coverage. Actually, with Nantz in the middle of a bitter divorce over an alleged affair, I think he may fall in love with Woods all over again.

My question to the amount of women coming out of the woodwork is this. WHY ? Why do they feel compelled to admit having a liaison with Tiger ? I mean, how much money can you get from a tabloid with proof (texts) of a sexual encounter ? It speaks volumes about how desperate the American public is for a mildly titillating story. I'm pretty much of the , "Who gives a f**k ?" attitude. It is naive at best to think a high profile celebrity isn't going to get a TON of offers from female "fans". It simply makes Tiger a human being with a lack of commitment to his marriage vows. I understand Toronto's points about being morally bankrupt, but the temptation to give in must be HUGE. The bottom line, he's just another guy that doesn't think about the consequences of his actions.

It is near the Christmas break of the school year.
The students have turned in all their work and there is really nothing more to do.
All the children are restless and the teacher decides to have an early dismissal.

Teacher: "Whoever answers the questions that I ask, fist and correctly can leave early today"
Little Johnny says to himself "Good, I want to get outta here. I'm smart and will answer the questions."
Teacher: "Who said 'four score and seven years ago'?
Before Johnny can open his mouth, Susie says, "Abraham Lincoln."
Teacher: "That is right Susie, you can go home now."
Johnny was mad that Susie answer the question first.
Teacher: "Who said "I have a Dream"?
Before Johnny can open his mouth, Mary said "Martin Luther King."
Teacher:"That's right Mary you can go home now."
Johnny is even madder than before.
Teacher: "Who said 'Ask not, What your country can do for you'?"
Again before Johnny can open his mouth, Nancy says, "John F. Kennedy."
Teacher: "That's right Nancy, you may also go home now."
Johnny is boiling mad that he has not been able to answer any questions first. When the teacher turns her back Johnny says, "I wish these bitches would keep their mouth shut!"
The Teacher turns around: "NOW WHO SAID THAT?"
Johnny: "Tiger Woods. Can I go home now?"
