I'm just picking up on Kuharsky's blog thoughts about this topic.
It seems most pundits feel the Colts will not go undefeated because they will once again sit their starters to rest them for the playoffs once they lock up home field advantage. They point out that the Colts have done this several times this decade after starting undefeated, so an undefeated season really means nothing to them. Bill Polian's comments seem to support this theory too.
Hasn't this franchise learned anything with those previous fast starts? Every time the Colts sat their starters in the past they came out cold in the playoffs and lost. The one time they had to keep fighting to the end, they won the Super Bowl. I don't believe this was coincidence. You don't mess with momentum and team chemistry when it's in your favor. At the very least allow Peyton and company to play an entire half to maintain a rhythm of some sort.
An undefeated regular season should never be a team's goal. We saw what happened with the Patriots a couple of years ago. I have no problem if the Colts want to keep their guys healthy once they lock up home field, but you can't let your starters sit for two or three weeks and expect them to play at the same level of a team that's had to fight to get there.
