Pick to win and score....
After watching tonight's games, I'm going with
Alabama 34
Texas 17
I think it would be a better game with Alabama-Cincy, Alabama-TCU, or Alabama-Boise.

Bama wins by 2 TD's.
Bama won't completely implode at the end like Nebraska.

I was going to pick that score LOL. Alabama 38-17
They've got another monster DT to deal with unfortunately, luckily he's mostly a two down player. But of course that Alabama defense ain't no joke, and they actually have an imagination on offense, unlike that pathetic display Nebraska put up tonight.
I'm so disappointed I really wanted those three teams you mentioned but what can you do?

Could you even draw up a better way to lose like Nebraska did tonight?
Kickoff out-of-bounds, and then a personal foul to set Texas up for a 46 yard FG.
Pure suckage!

I will go out on a tiny itty bitty limb...and say Texas over Bama 28-25. NO idea where I came up with that one. Not a clue. Not one. Alabama didn't look so hot vs. Auburn last week. And I personally believe that Florida was severely overrated this year. This is not to say that Texas looks all that great either. Tonite's game blew huge chunks. I couldn't even watch the last second field goal.

Bama by a country mile.
The national championship was decided yesterday. Florida and Bama are the best two teams by a wide margin. There must have been 20 NFL players on those two rosters.

I feel like I heard all of this back in 2006 when Michigan-OSU played...must be Deja Vu.

Being a Texas homer, I gotta say that Texas has played to at least the level of the competition.
Mack Brown will have them ready for this game
Most aren't giving the Longhorns a chance. Nebraska has something like the second best defense in the country. Top 5 at least along with Florida and Alabama, so it's not like Texas played some powder puff team.
That being said
Texas 24
Bama 20
:D

Only problem is Bama has a much better total defense than Nebraska and actually has an offense unlike Nebraska.
Bama 30
Texas 13

0.2 PPG and 40 yards PG less is "much better"?

I'm surprised Orca hasn't made his prediction:
Orca predicts:
Bama 365
Texas -45
Despite all that, I know that Texas is the best freaking damn state in the Union.
Thanks, Orca.

Interesting stat. These two teams have played 8 times and Bama has never won (0-7-1). :ohmy

its better than that excuse of a offensive gameplan Nebraska displayed. Even Fisherball turns to the next page in the playbook.

We're comparing defenses, not offenses.
I do agree that Texas appears mismatched against Bama's defensive line, particulary Cody... Suh exposed some flaws that Bama could exploit. At the the same time, the game is a month away. They've got plenty of time to work on a solution.
One thing working against Bama is they're going to be reading their press clippings for an entire month... virtually no one is giving Texas a shot in this game. Texas will be playing the heavy underdog role... similar to 05 against "the greatest college football team EVAR".

One advantage I will give Texas is big game experience. 'Bama is in the third year or rebuilding after some real suckage for years. The SEC Championship was a big stage and they played well, but Texas has a roster full of players that have played in big games and as a program they've played in them for years.

I think the biggest factor that yall seem to be forgetting is that Saban, the head coach of the team, has been in these big game situations, in fact he's won a national championship too, so he does know how to handle them and how to get his players to handle them.
It's not just the Bama defensive line that will be a mismatch for Texas. It's the blitz packages. Bama blitzes in every way imaginable and puts pressure on QB's who aren't used to getting pressure (i.e. Tebow, Mallet). They have the number 1 pass efficiency defense in the nation. The number 2 rush defense only behind Texas, but my argument to that is no one Texas has faced even commits to running the ball, it's all just pass happy offenses. Bama has played several teams with good rushing attacks, VA Tech, Tenn, Miss. St., Auburn, and Florida.

I think Julio Jones will dictate this game. He's a mismatch for any secondary,

Much better as in balanced and able to take whatever the defense gives them. We could have much higher stats but instead we don't run the score up on teams. Instead we've just run out the clock in most all the games we've been winning big. Including the SEC championship game, McElroy did not throw a single pass in the 4th quarter because there was no need. So yeah, we have a much better offense, stats don't tell everything.

The only bowl that really matters is the :
Papa John's.com Bowl
UConn 24 South Carolina 21
The "Other" game. Bama, BIG. 38-10

Texas 34
Bama 24
I dont think two teams in a row can contain the longhorns receiving corps. They are so explosive. Jordan Shipley, Marquis Goodwin and Malcom Williams are going to be too much. Alabama just isnt as dynamic outside of the RB position and the Longhorns secondary are a bunch of ball hawks.

Please dont confuse fake Orca quotes with the real thing...:D And WHY would anyone possibly think that amiable Orca doesnt care for the state of TX?
All Orca knows is that he's glad we dont have to watch tOSU lose in another national championship game....

Maybe instead of typing it as tOSU, we should start doing it as Tosu.

It will hopefully be an exciting game. I don't have a lot of faith in UT's O-line. As the Barking Carnival puts it, our O-line is an easier notch on the Defense's belt than Carmen Electra.
