Who do you pick for the winner after tonight's games?

I have to go with the guy who was most convincing with it all on the line - Ingram.

In my mind, Tebow is out of the conversation period. He did nothing in the SEC championship game to show he deserved it this season. He was robbed last year, but you can't rob Peter to pay Paul.

McCoy needed an early Christmas gift from Nebraska's kickoff return specialist to eke out a win over lowly Nebraska in the Big 12 championship. He darn near cost his team the game twice with it on the line. He was a meager 20 of 36 for 184 yards and 3 picks. The most costly came with his team driving. Then he nearly lost it with poor clock management. That's not how Heisman winners separate themselves in big games.

I'd also have to consider Ndamukong Suh the dominating defensive tackle from Nebraska. I'm not so sure his performance this season wasn't the best in college football.

Ingram, definitely!

There's no way they give it to Colt after tonight.

I pick Suh, he's been spectacular all year and he literally controlled the game tonight. I've never seen a freaking DT take over the game and be around the ball as much as he was. Honestly I think im basing most of this on tonights performance but im just so high off of it I can't help it.

Probably ingram gets it.

I think he had a great game and should definitely be in the running over McCoy or Tebow but not over Ingram. He's been extremely consistent over the season and had one not so good game against a bitter rival that he got a very painful injury in. If he doesn't win it something is very wrong.

Copied this from another site. Interesting.....

Ingram was barely the SEC's leading rusher before the title game - with 1429 yards and 12 TDs. Mississippi State's Anthony Dixon had 1391 yards with 12 TDs. If anything, Dixon was more valuable to a team than Ingram was.

Stanford's Toby Gerhart had 26 rushing TDs, almost as many as Colt McCoy had THROWING.

Ingram: 1,542 total yards - 15 total touchdowns - done in 13 games
Gerhart: 1,736 total yards - 26 total touchdowns - done in 12 games

Ingram: 30 yards against Auburn, 56 yards against Florida International, 50 yards against Arkansas, 91 yards against North Texas
Gerhart: Lowest yards all year was 82 against Wake Forest. Next was 96 against Oregon State.. all the rest were over 100 yards.

Ingram: Had 1 200+ yard game all season
Gerhart: Had 3 200+ yard games all season

I'm an Ole Miss fan and personally love to see SEC players get awards, and loved seeing Bama destroy Florida and Tim Tebow crying like a little sorority girl on the sidelines which secured his first professional endorsement deal, with Kleenex...

But the Heisman should go to Stanford's Toby Gerhart. No other team in the country had a more valuable player and a more productive player.

Isn't the Heisman like the NFL MVP though?

You need to be on a really good team to garner consideration.

Anyone but St. Tebow.

I hear he is being interviewed for the vacant Notre Dame HC position. Once he is hired Touchdown Jesus will be renamed Touchdown Tebow.

I don't really care if Ingram gets it or not. Alabama has never had a heisman and there's a reason for that, we've just never stressed the importance of one player. Even with Ingram being the workhorse he is, we still sub in Richardson and Upchurch at will on just about any situation and feel completely confident with them in. It's not like the other guys where if they went down the team would probably fall apart.

the ENTIRE season as a whole should be taken into account, and not just the most recent game, but that is never the case with this award

with that said, I would vote

1. Gerhart
2. Suh
3. McCoy

Wow... I can't believe we finally won a Heisman!!! Amazing season Ingram, congrats to the team on this, cus as he said, this is a team award for him, he couldn't of done it without the rest of his teammates.

Just one thing, he still has one more game to win this season. Get back back to work and bring the big trophy home.

Congrats to Ingram.

So, where do you guys think he'll go in the draft?

Will he be a great RB in the NFL?

Who can we compare him to?

Ingram is not draft eligible

Yeah he's just a sophomore, but Gary Danielson (a known Bama hater and former Florida QB compared him to Emmitt Smith in the way he runs and I can really see where he's comin from. Not sayin he'll have as good of a career as the all time rushing leader in the NFL, but he does have a very similar running style.

I swear I didn't know that, but then this semester has been really rough. I'm lucky to even remember my name. I went to class an hour early on Thursday and it took me a few minutes to figure it hour; been going to that class for 15 weeks now. :lol

Congrats to Ingram! He's a terrific player and deserved the award. That said, I wouldn't have been upset if Suh won the award either.

Its funny how 3 years ago people were saying that a sophomore would never iwn the award...then they reel off 3 straight soph winners...also, Ingram is 2 months younger than me! wow.

Even being a Bama fan, I think Suh got kinda hosed. He at least should of been top 3 at very least, if not won it. It's just really hard for defensive players to win because as they say, there's a reason the guy on the trophy is holding a ball.

hard for a D-player? its more like impossible...only one guy has won it:

All I can say is Reggie Bush and VY.

Hopefully the same will be the outcome of the championship game.

I was listening to ESPN earlier in the week and some of the guys on there were talking about what a great chance he had of getting it.

Yes Woodson got it as a defensive player.

but he was also a great return man and he played ALOT of WR as well.

he was pretty much an ironman

And he didn't deserve it. This was the ESPN "I bet we can hype a defensive player enough for him to win it" year. A Heisman winner who failed to lead his team in a single statistical category. Shameful.

Titansfan777

led the team with 8 int's.

stats:
12 catches for 238 yards and 2 TD. 5 carries for 21 yards and 1 TD. 36 punt returns for 301 yards and 1 TD. 44 tackles, 1 sack, 8 INT.

thats heisman caliber right there
