I've needed a few days to steady my hands. I GUARANTEED that the Texans would make the playoffs. It started to crumble with Kris Brown's missed field goal against Indy, to tie the game. "IT" went to hell in a hand basket after that. I am SO freaking pissed at the coaching staff, the team and the entire organization, I could S**T! Do NOT take me seriously ever again. It is painfully obvious that I'm completely clueless, when it comes to the NFL. My opinions, save this one, are full of flawed logic and pre adolescent angst. I am as shrewd and insightful as lint. REX GROSSMAN, ARE YOU KIDDING ME ? Sorry about your loss to Indy. You're their b***h ! What does that make the Texans ?

I won't hold anything against ya, I thought the Texans would make the playoffs too this year.

What does that make the Texans OWNED!!!

I also thought that the Texans had a great shot at making the playoffs. They just can't finish out close games.

They are the Oilers in "Battle Red". :D

Belly button lint can be fascinating, though :lol

Well, if we're Indy's B***h, then the Texans are our gimp.

Joking aside, I don't watch the Texans enough to really understand what their problems are. The talent on that team is phenomenal so something must be going wrong at the coaching level. Kubiak seemed like the kind of guy who could get things done so maybe the problem is below him?

I think if they sign a good OL in FA along with maybe another decent DB and draft a good DL like that florida kid or something, they could be the best team in the division (after the titans naturally) next year. Imagine something along the lines of:

FA
-Logan Mankins/Marcus McNeil/Jahri Evans/Jared Gaither (Good OL)
-Keep Dunta Robinson
-Sign a guy like Tramon Williams/Richard Marshall (Good DB's)

DRAFT
-Draft a guy like Dunlap (Dunlap+Williams on both sides would be a nightmare)
or
-CJ Spiller (Total Chris Johnson Clone+Special teams nightmare)

Any combination of the players listed could have the texans as a playoff team next year.

Chowd, They are NOT the Oilers in any sense of the word. Our kicker, Kris Brown, has "Oilered" two missed field goals against Indy and you guys, but that's as close as we come to wearing THAT helmet. Many think the problem(s) rest with Kubiak and the rest of the coaching staff. We DO have some amazing talent, but the team as a whole languishes in a malaise during one half of just about any given game. Schaub went out with a seperated shoulder and REX F*****G Grossman actually looked WORSE than when he was in Chicago ! GOD does he SUCK !

Good to see you T1. Yeah, I'm really fed up, disgusted and emotionally all over the place. The Texans, as an organization, MUST improve across the board. Oh yeah, Steve Slaton has been placed on IR and is out for the season. Just keeps getting better all the time....

Play the UConn kid Dan Orslovsky, he has got to be better than Grossman.

You're absolutely correct Chowd. What I can't wrap my brain around is the fact that REX GROSSMAN is even PLAYING in the NFL. It's like when Coy Detmer was in the league for a couple of years. Ahhh, the Detmer brothers and their gimpy arms. Always good for a laugh....

They could play Chris Brown at QB, he has some passing experience. :)

At least theres still balance of power in the universe.
The Texans will NEVER be the Jeffersons !

Seriously, their difficulty breaking the 8-8 stalemate is mind boggling !
You seem to have most of the pieces.
Especially on offense.

I don't understand Houston's luck with Indy... or should I say Indy's luck with Houston. It's hard to believe that Hou has only beaten Indy once. I agree Livid - it all seemed to fall apart after the missed field goal part I. But over the seasons, your guys have played Indy very tough and should have won many more of those match-ups... Rosencopter comes to mind... Interesting off-season in store for your squad it would seem.

I'm usually one who gives coaches the benefeit of the doubt, but I think the Texans really need to look for another coach. If I were the Texans FO, I'd jump all over John Fox if he gets fired in Carolina.

Too bad you have to play the Patriots. They love to suck the life out of playoff hopes. :sad

What needs to happen for Houston to make the playoffs? Besides a win obviously.

The SCENARIO is posted on the opening page, before you log in. It's unlikely, but possible. IF the Texans DO manage to make the playoffs, please disregard my initial post. Stay of execution, if you will....
