I think it is stupid, and so will most Americans. All the bill does (if for some ungodly reason it gets passed) is prevent people from calling or promoting the BCS Championship Game a "national championship".
Isn't that one reason it is called the "BCS Championship" to begin with? The media may promote it as the national championship game, but I don't think the NCAA does.
Next thing you know, the government will try to pass a law calling for the World Series to change its name, since the World doesn't play in it. :p

I have no problem with the bill. Whatever it takes to inch major college football to a playoff, I'm good. They're going to waste our tax dollar on something anyway. It may as well be on something useful. :thumbsup
This is obviously an appropriate topic for legislation and evidence of how our elected representatives are addressing the important issues of the day.

The Metro Council debated a bill for a landing pad for UFO's and on a State level the legislature passed a bill allowing citizens to eat roadkill. Why should we expect the "lawmakers" in Washington" to be any different?
