Quarterbacks
Chad Henne has made great strides this season for the Dolphins, but Vince Young has played well despite his injuries of late. He’s been especially impressive at home.
Running Backs
Chris Johnson manages to get his yards no matter what. Ricky Williams has shouldered the load following the season-ending injury to Ronnie Brown.
Receiver / Tight End
As a unit, the Titans are coming off one of their most impressive games. The Dolphins have a playmaker in Davone Bess, while Greg Camarillo has been productive.
Offensive Line
The Titans are opening holes and protecting the quarterback. The Dolphins have had to deal with injuries recently, and have allowed 27 sacks.
Defensive Line
Titans DE William Hayes has really stepped it up of late, while DT Tony Brown has been consistently good. Dolphins DE Randy Starks, a former Titan, is breaking out.
Linebacker
Joey Porter and Jason Taylor have been disruptive, while Channing Crowder has been consistent. Keith Bulluck and Stephen Tulloch are first and second in a battle for the Titans’ tackling lead.
Secondary
Titans CB Cortand Finnegan has heated up and NB Vincent Fuller continues to be an underrated player. Dolphins CB Vontae Davis had a team-leading three interceptions.
Special Teams
Return man Ted Ginn Jr. is dangerous, and the Dolphins are solid in the return game and in coverage. The Titans have struggled returning and covering kicks, although PK Rob Bironas has been money.
Coaching
Jeff Fisher has the Titans on the comeback trail. Tony Sparano also has his Dolphins playing well at just the right time.
Intangibles
The stakes are high for both teams. The winner stays alive, the loser begins counting the days until season’s end. The Titans should get a lift from the home crowd.

Titans LT Michael Roos vs. Dolphins LB Joey Porter
Porter, the former Steeler, is still going strong in his 11th season. He leads the Dolphins with eight sacks, has speed and great instincts. While Porter has a tendency to come from different angles, the gifted Roos will have a large role in trying to slow him down.

Titans LB Keith Bulluck vs. Dolphins RB Ricky Williams
Just like last week against Steven Jackson, it will take a team effort to slow down Williams. Bulluck is the team’s leading tackler, so he’s usually in the thick of things. The strong Williams can break tackles and get into the open field. The Titans need to corral him near the line of scrimmage.

First. Based on the way he’s played over the last seven games, the Titans’ offense would be hamstrung if Vince Young’s hamstring limits him. The Titans need Young at or near 100 percent because his threat as a runner takes considerable pressure off Chris Johnson.

Second. Hello? Has anybody in the front office noticed that free agent-to-be Keith Bulluck is playing the best football of his career? Yes, I know the Titans historically have cut ties with players this deep in their careers, but Bulluck isn’t slowing down and remains healthy. Re-sign the guy, OK?

Third. CJ2K remains on track. Chris Johnson is averaging 125.08 rushing yards per game. If he maintains that pace, he’ll reach 2,001 yards and become just the sixth player in NFL history — and the first since Jamal Lewis in 2003 — to hit the 2,000-yard mark in a single season.

Fourth. Hate to rain on the parade but the Titans’ chance of making the playoffs is on life support. Even if they win their three remaining games and get to 9-7, the likelihood they play in the postseason is just 5.1 percent, according to sportsclubstats.com.
