View Full Version : Shame on you, KVB

You may have once had, and probably still do, have a cult of fans of "The motor that never quits"
But you have not been impressive enough this year for me to overlook the embarassing cheap shot of kicking the Dolphin in the ribs while he was getting up. You were caught on tv, called Bush league, and only furthered the national image a lot of people have of the Titans.
Many people around the country think of the Titans, and they still see Haynesworth stomping Gurode, and think of PacMan, whether it's fair or not. I normally try to support our players, especially when sticking up for teammates, or just being the aggressive players they are (Finnegan, Mawae, looking at you).
But cheap shots like that?
Too far, Mr. "Motor-man, too far.

Are you talking about the play when KVB was trying to rip the ball out of the players hand?

Yawn.....
I'm sorry, but yawn? Really? Am I someone who regularly throws stuff like this out there? Do I spam these boards with anti-Titan threads?
KVB took a cheap shot I didn't approve of and that perpetuates the "Titans are cheap-shotting villains" image. It's one thing when it's Finnegan chucking a reciever or Mawae really putting it to a D-Lineman during the play, but this was after the play, and I was shocked he wasn't given a personal foul, or even ejected.
looks like Peter King saw it too - From his Monday Morning QB-
b. Kyle Vanden Bosch kicking at a Dolphins ballcarrier. "Bush league,'' said color man Dan Fouts on CBS. Agreed. Vanden Bosch is normally a great guy. Can't lose your mind like that

Sorry football is a violent sport and it goes both ways. If it was such a big deal why did no one outside of Fouts mention it?

The play that is in question happen with 5 min. left in the second quarter. I do not know how to present it to you all so if any of you know how to do it please show the board.

I have to agree with you Tra.....I mean Jones. It was no big deal. KVB didn't put any effort into hurting the man and the player didn't jump up and complained.

Do you know how many players punch each other on the bottom of fumble piles, and in
the trenches, I guess all those guys are dirty to.

didn't look like a knee at all, to me just look liked he was losing his balance a little bit, otherwise that may have been the nicest knee to the ribs I have ever seen

I agree, KVB tried to rip the ball out then kicked the guy. What was the point? All he is doing is ruining the Titans organizations image. Anyone who approves of that must also justify the ravens cheap shot on CJ in the playoffss.

So, since there's punching on the bottom of a pile, Haynesworths stomping of Gurode was fine, right? Because if there's any violence somewhere on the field, all violence anywhere on the field must be fine, amirite?

From where I was sitting it didn't look like KVB actually touched Henne. He made the kicking motion but did not actually come in contact with him. The Ref was standing right there watching him and Henne got up and went back to the huddle.
At first I thought he had kicked him while he was down and I actually thought, WTF? but after replaying it in my mind and then they showed on the big screen, there's no way there was contact.
I could be wrong but that's what I saw.

I just watched it ten times. That was no kick, and less than the typical "shove" they usually give getting up off the ground/player.
I don't think anyone should be kicked, either, but that was nothing. IMO of course. :)

I haven't seen a replay, but I thought Fout's blew it way out of proportion.
I'm more disappointed with KVB's non existent pass rush this year.

KVB is a shell of his old self. Its just sad. Everyone should give him a big round of applause on christmas this friday as it will most likely be the last time he is ever seen in a titans uniform.

KVB has been the same KVB he has always been. His first year when he got like 12.5 sacks, he was playing on the left side. The next year he got only 6.5 (i think) playing on the same side, maybe cuz people were game planning more or sumthing. the year after he moved next to Haynesworth, and had another 10 + sack year. Then last year he was injured, and now this year just cuz he doesnt have the sack numbers, he sucks? he still puts out more effort then any player on the roster, evidence of the fumble by Ricky-KVB got knocked on the ground and in one motion popped up, and started running immediatly to the pile. Along with not have consistent push in the middle, KVB lacks a vairety of pass rush moves, pretty much bull rush, and hard outside rush. Very rarely if ever do you see any spin moves or any quick manuavers, don't know if thats a scheme thing or what, but he has always had that same high motor.

Tony Brown forced the fumble not KVB. He has clearly lost a step, he can't beat tackles around the edge anymore and consequently ends up being pushed past the pocket. I haven't watched him closely enough to see how he is playing the run.
