It is interesting to look back to week 6. The Titans had their worst loss in franchise history to the Patriots to drop their record to a miserable 0-6. The Chargers played at home to the Broncos on MNF, where they came back from a 17-10 deficit, took a 23-17 lead, and then were shut out the rest of the game in a 34-23 loss. The Chargers fell to 2-3, and the Broncos looked like they were going to run away with the division.
The attraction of the Christmas game certainly looked pretty bleak. Who would watch that on TV? Would the stadium even be half full? Would this be another Chiefs-Titans type of prime time game?
But something happened after that week. The Chargers started winning and winning and winning. :ohmy They won 9 games in a row to fly pass the struggling Broncos and win the AFC West.
Back in Tennessee, a similar resurgance was happening. Vince Young took over QB duties, and we started winning. The Titans have gone from the basement at 0-6 to thick in the wild card race at 7-7.
These two teams are a combined 16-1 since week 6. Now we have a Christmas game that could give the Chargers a first round bye or give the Titans continued hope for the playoffs. This game means something, which is a Christmas miracle in itself. :thumbsup
