A sucking secondary comes from poor drafts and maybe not too many smarts. Penalties come from no discipline. Discipline comes from the coaching staff. I still say the buck stops with Fisher, since Bud gave him power to hire, fire, and all in between.

this thread would be a tiny bit more acceptable if it had been in any way a productive analysis. to point out the obvious and then appear smug about it is kinda pointless.

Let's be honest here. VY isn't helping the cause tonight.

Jessestylex
12-25-2009, 09:58 PM
all 3 of Vy's turnovers have costed us 7 points each time.

but i dont blame VY, i blame the big lead our secondary gave the Chargers.

Bud wont be happy.

it might be better to focus on who IS helping the cause tonight.. cause that list is much shorter.. and I cant even include the coaching in that one..

It might be, but then I can't think of anyone. CJ is doing his thing I guess.

agreed. The field looks good though.. groundskeepers are on their A game.

In this space, originally appeared a thorough, scathing vent on the Titans, including comparisons to the Cubs and Clippers. Having typed it out, I felt the cathartic release I needed was achieved just typing the words, so I decided instead to say:

Merry Christmas.

We lost tonight because we played like Santa Claus. The Titans gave out as many gifts as they could to the Chargers.

Next time the Titans play on Christmas, remind me to stay home.

Here's an idea.....

How 'bout we play on "Chanukah"....????.....It's called the "Miracle of Lights" and goes for 8 days....

That's two "W" right there....!!!

We should have worn the red unis.....

In truth, most of the team was pressing from the get go and that leads to physical and mental errors. The coaches not only didn't reign it in, they joined the lack of emotional control parade. Oh well, sorry we played such a clunker tonight, but our odds of getting in have been long, long, long since October. At lease we know we have the talent on offense to be competative over the long haul. And we have some young guys on defense who show promise, too. So, here' to 2010 and getting back to the dance!

And, I do appreciate that these guys cared enough to keep working and give it a good run after the awful start. That takes character and they made this season worth watching when once I though it was doomed to become unwatchable. Now, before we close it out for the season, lets go wup up on Seattle and make CJ2K a reality.

The Titans lost due to Total Team Failure. Poor execution, poor coaching, and lack of discipline. It was a nationally televised embarrassment.

A thorough examination of the players and coaching staff is needed when this season is over.

After tonight I feel foolish that I even thought we had a team that could sniff the play-offs much-less contend if we got there.

We lost because we played an 11-3 team, while we played like a 7-8 team.

It's simple.

The defense has been inconsistent all season. Even during the winning streak it felt like the D was being held together by glue and band aids at times and without Bulluck the whole thing fell apart.

That made me laugh, thanks :D

I've never left a game early and tonight was no exception, but I wanted to! Told my seatmate I always snicker at him for leaving early and he said he always snickers at me for being such a dumbass and staying :lol

I was cheering tackles after the start of the 4th. Tackles! At least I got to watch CJ's TD

Is it written on the bathroom stalls?! Honestly, elite teams have our number, because we are not one of them. One day, maybe. Now, and the last few years? Not really.

It's still nice to know that the Titans have the Steelers, Jags, Texans, and the whole NFC's number. :thumbsup

We aren't elite, but we are a lot better off than many teams.

We will never be an elite team with Jeff Fisher! We may be 13-3 some years but 8-8 a lot more years. I don't know the number but I think more than one third of Fishers team have been 8-8 and that does not include the years with losing records. TIME FOR A CHANGE!

the chargers remind me of how the ravens used to give the titans fits.
people forget the 99 titans had a totally horrible game against the ravens toward the end of that season.
it was about the only game steve really sucked during that period of time.
of course they overcame it pretty quickly so i still dont know how indicative is this of the team over all.

though considering earlier in the season it was disturbing to see some of the same issues on defense come back.

actually some of this has shifted over the years.
the titans for a long time were dominant over the colts.
they have beaten the pats in the past.
a titans defeat caused the ravens into a tailspin that lasted for awhile till they bounced back.

this stuff goes in cycles though right now the chargers seem to be vince's bugaboo like the ravens were for mcnair for awhile.
