Anyone know why Jarred Cook stopped playing in general?
My best guess is he had trouble with blocking...
If that is the case, let's use him for his TALENTS and use him in the slot! Secondaries will have a real hard time with Gage/Britt/Washington/Cook, let alone CJ and Vince (which I hope he'll only keep getting better).
Cook is a receiving tight end. If he has so much trouble blocking, turn him to a wide receiver and let craig stevens do the blocking!! I want to see Linebackers try and cover Cook like Lbs have to cover Antonio Gates!!!

Funny that you would say that, they actually had him lined up out wide during one play and VY tried to get the ball to him but it was batted away at the line. Not a terrible idea, he could be a very good WR, but I still like him in the middle, it's just his rookie year so he's defninitely no Ben Troupe yet.

Well yea I believe he was having problems with blocking like most young TEs, and he was never really playing that much to begin with.
He hurt his ankle I beileve at the end of preseason, then suffered a concussion I believe midway through the season,
Plus he is a rookie, not too many rookies usually get a lot of significant playing time their first years unless injuries.
So one of these is prolly the reason
Anyways I hope he pans out, cuz not having a 2nd round pic this year cuz of him could hurt

The high ankle sprain, followed by the concussion, plus there were rumors about not knowing the plays well enough and not being a good blocker.

Cook needs to dedicate himself over the summer and show he can parlay all that talent onto the field. He has been a big disappointment, but I won't completely write him off just yet. It's up to him to improve.

Yea guys like Williams Hayes, lendale white, dave stewart, just to name a few were almost invisible their rookie years, but came out their 2nd year strong, so hopefully next year Cook, along with Marks, and either Mouton/McCourty and Tenn will bounce back without having to spend alot in FA or invest in draft picks for those positions.
Of course there is no way of knowing this for sure until next season starts so good luck Tennessee on your off season evaluations

Haha well Cornelius Ingram goes from a 60's TE to a 74 WR. Cook is a monster at TE on that game though, I always draft him as my starter on my fantasy draft franchises.

He's hardly been on the field. When he's had balls thrown his way, I believe he's caught them-at least that's my admittedly casual observation. :D

Not sure why Cook wasn't taken so much into consideration, but is the same question I have about LenDale.
It's impossible to figure out what happened this season about many things.

I don't think Byner likes Lendale.

but not being able to block and not learning the play negates that..
just hope maybe the idea be will be more healthy will cause him to be more comitted learning these things next year.

I am still very excited about this kid's potential.
We all hear about how different the pro game is from the college game in a multitude of ways.
Like John said, he seems to have caught nearly everything thrown at him in limited playing time, as a rookie.
I prefer to think of this year's production as a bonus. I really don't expect much from rookies.

Yeah, but do we know that, or are we speculating? My impression is that he's just in for a few plays, and Bo and Alge were playing pretty well for the most part. Maybe there's just no hurry?
