I would like to thank every player, coach, employee, and fellow fan for another entertaining season...We didn't quite get there, but we made some noise...It was worth being a part of for sure.
Here's to an even better '10!!!

For me this was not an entertaining season. Losing the first six games and losing solidly to Indy and SD in the final ten was NOT ENTERTAINING. In fact we almost lost in Seattle today due to the UNDISCIPLINED AND DEFINITELY NOT ENTERTAINING play.
Okay, I will bite my tongue, but I think we need a Cowher or Biran Billick to teach our team DISCIPLINE. JF cannot do it.

We started 0-6 and finished .500, had a 2000 yard rusher and possible comeback player of the year....It was as entertaining as a no-playoff season can possibly be.

This is my opinion as well. We may not have made the playoffs, but we made history.
There is a big difference between what we did and what the Broncos did, even though we both finished with the same record. The Titans looked dead and gone, but rallied to salvage the season. The Broncos blew an amazing 6-0 start to depress their team and their fanbase.
I guarantee you that Titans fans are a whole lot happier today than Broncos fans are. Not all 8-8 seasons are the same.

i admit it was entertaining season, the 2nd half of it anyways. but im not going to forget that we had Super Bowl expectations coming into the season only for it to be lowered by the 0-6 start.

I think entertaining went out the window with the single objective of getting CJ his yards. I personally felt they went about it too singlemindedly. I didn't get the feeling the Titans were there to win. They were there to get CJ his yards and hopefully win.
Discipline. This has been the problem of this team since the loss against the Ravens, especially on defense. I hope we see a renewed intensity during training camp.
Coaching. I'm on the fence. I won't be sad to see Fisher go, I won't mind seeing him stay. However, I do feel that with the experience he has the personnel mistakes of this season are close to inexcusable.

8-8 is 8-8. No amount of lipstick is making this pig look like Jessica Simpson. The season was a massive underachievement, no matter how you spin it. Denver's season is also an underachievement because McDaniels portrayed himself a guru and he did the exact same thing Shanahan had done his last years. No QB, and soon to be no #1 WR or TE.

This was the last year i would have to watch my titans at home. I leave for navy bootcamp in july. It was an amzing run. 0-6 to 8-8, CJ2K, VY Redemption. I had alot of fun. You guys were awesome and made it even more enjoyable. Hopefully i find a way to check out the games overseas, but i know that you all will be cheering loud enough to make up for my loss. Thanks alot everyone.

I think there is a difference between a disappointing season and an entertaining season. I was sick to my stomach watching some of the underachieving play we had this year. But every game we played this year meant something. We had something to cheer for. Even the last game, we had CJ going for records. I am disappointed that our season has ended with no playoffs. But for me, it was a very entertaining season.

Accomplishments this year:
1. CJ is the founding member of the 2000/500 club, among other records.
2. Titans were first team to start 0-6 and finish .500 or better.
3. Vince Young has emerged as the starting QB and increased his win/loss record to 26-13 (66.67% win percentage).
4. Titans/Fisher beat the Seahawks for the first time in 6 tries.
5. Titans broke the West Coast curse, winning both games.
6. Titans have won 15 straight against the NFC.
7. VY had his first 3 TD pass game. He also had his first game with no turnovers and no sacks.

I'd trade all of it for a Winning record and the playoffs. The standard shortfalls that have come from this team is bordering on inexcusable. Two winning seasons in the last five years. One was a fluke the other was a miracle considering we had no offense.

2004-2006 were rebuilding years, and we still finished .500 in 2006. 2007 and 2008 were legitimate winning/playoff seasons, though the Titans really limped into the 2007 playoffs. 2008 was definitely a dissapointing end to the season, and the only year where we should have won a playoff game. 2009 was the victim of the schedule, injuries, new DC, and some questionable coaching decisions to start the season.
The only season our of the last 6 that I was really disappointed in was 2008, because that was a legit Super Bowl team. I feel really good about next year with this offense and a somewhat rebuilt defense.

I was dissapointed with the 2000 and 2001 seasons as well.
So that makes:
2000
2001
2008 and
2009
in my case. All those are back to back seasons now that I'm thinking of it.
The ideal showcase will be changing this team to a consistent competitive one. The players are there to have it. What has failed is the F.O. and coaching. We were victims of bad coaching in those years (The Schwartz project was slow and when he got it he immigrated to Coach Detroit). Eliminate having "Thompsons" and "Hills"...Keep the players that give this franchise a best shot. we need a very smart Reindfelt for that matter.
We need more consistency in those type of things and Fisher needs to stop thinking as if this team is his baby and he can do whatever with it. Fisher needs to have a much more serious approach, and there is where I'm not sure if he has it.

One thing is really clear - we have GOT to cash in on CJ while he's this damn special. RBs like him are rare - we have one of the truly great players in the league, and owe it to him to give him the necessary cast to go deep into January 2011.

The good news is that we have more flexibility with free agents than the current playoff teams. Those teams can only sign as many free agents as they let go. And free agents should be more willing to sign with an 8-8 club with a history of making the playoffs than some 4 or 5 win team that rarely makes it.
The offense is in pretty good shape. We likely lose a tight end and a lineman or two, but we still should be solid. The defense is what will make or break us next year, and I feel we will do what it takes to get great role players (as opposed to overpriced high dollar free agents) on defense.
Vince and CJ make a great combination, and those two should lead our team to the playoffs next year and hopefully many years after that.

The defense was "robbed" since Fisher didn't accept Williams' terms. Hopefully, Cecil can come up with more a more solid unit in 2010.
Our Special Teams need serious improvement, our LB unit needs to be addressed as also as our DBs.

Me. In all areas of life, I've learned how to be content with breaking even. Of course it took a lot of losing to find that attitude of gratitude. I've learned a lot of things from my trips to Vegas :lol

Was there enough entertainment value to keep me glued to each and every game?: YES

...2009 was the victim of the schedule, injuries, new DC, and some questionable coaching decisions to start the season.
I have to respectfully disagree with you and call :bsflag
The schedule is the schedule. It wasn't as if the Titans had to go back and forth, East to West over and over. It didn't involve a three-game road trip. There was no excuse whatsoever for starting the season 0-6. Even if all 6 teams were against playoff teams, the Titans should have gone 3-3, or even 2-4.
Using injuries and a new defensive coordinator as excuses is weak. Teams turnover coaching staffs and personnel every year, and don't completely fall off the map like the Titans. Denver even maintained their mediocrity by going 8-8 again despite a new offensive coordinator, new defensive coordinator, new head coach, and new QB. They should have been 2-14 if they used the same excuses that the Titans are getting the benefit of by some.
As far as questionable coaching decisions, this season has to go down as a banner year for FAIL. A rookie punt returner who had never returned punts in college. Sticking with the same defensive scheme without the big body who consumes a double-team block on every play. Absolute refusal to admit that beloved veterans (we know who) just didn't have it anymore. Telling respected veterans 90 minutes before gametime that they have been deactivated. Holding some kind of grudge against your second-string running back. Coaching "not to lose" more times than one can remember.
It might have been entertaining, but not for the right reasons. This season was a waste of talent and opportunity. Unfortunately, we've seen this movie before, and it doesn't have a happy ending.

Ignorance my ass. What makes you think that he is not? Is it from all the retired players from this team that this franchise drafted throughout the years. Don't let his big spending spree after the Super Bowl year fool you. This team don't sign big name free agents. Just the bargain bin players that doesn't have the same impact. This is the reason that Fisher is such a good coach because he can get production out of these players.
