What players around the league are due to be free agents this offseason?

i know who's contracts are expired on our team, but not much about other teams

wilfork catches my eye, but i am sure ne will re-sign him
casey hampton as well, i think we need someone to clog up that middle like haynesworth did

demeco ryans would be a huge sign, but i also feel like he will be staying in houston

d'qwell jackson had that huge game against us last year, and he could be a possibility at lb with keith most likely leaving

brackett is also on the lb list, and i think he can bounce back from injury and still have 2+ good years

not much in terms of free agent cb's unfortunately, and i would expect us to look for one early in the draft

fabian washington? ellis hobbs? possibly antoine bethea

i am just working off the list from this website, so if any of these players have been re-signed over this year, i am unaware

On the plane headed back.We never Quiet 0-6 to 8-8. I wanna thank all the Titans fans for your support this yr.Hopefully i'm back next season

imo we have to sign him, we cant lose all 3 lb's and expect to fill the holes easily

Pass on Hobbs, he's good at KR but not at CB.
Wilfork would be nice but he's better in a 3-4, and has that dirty label.
Ryans would be great!

we need all the depth we can get on D
wouldnt mind us getting a second tier CB just to be there and then still drafting one in the draft.

would like to also bring in some other players on the d-line or at the lb position. obviously knowing our history, we will not sign anyone big and i am fine with that but we just need to get bodies and competition.

when it comes to the draft though, i would much rather use our 1st round pick for a d-line men or a lineback versus drafting a cb.

really like to see us trade our pick in the draft for 1st and 2nd or even 1st and 3rd, this is going to be a deep draft with the possible changes with a rookie salary cap and we need all the depth we can get.

Demeco Ryans and Dunta Robinson are both FAs and only one franchise tag to use.

Josh Cribbs is also a FA.

None of this will happen of course.

Vince Wilfork would be tremendous here. The Patriots will not and do not overpay their players. At the very least the Titans should contact his agent and make the Patriots 'ante up' if they are going to keep him.

If the Titans are aggressive I think Wilfork could be had.

I'm just wonderin if a lot of these guys will actually be restricted free agents with the CBA not being redone. And if it isn't then I'm pretty sure every team gets two franchise tags for some reason, so Houston could keep both Ryans and Robinson. Also means we could keep Bulluck and someone else though.

Lendale won't be with us next year. I would like to see us pick up Darren Sproles or Leon Washington to back up CJ. We could definately use the help in the return game.

with those two i would much rather go with washinton
a) far superior kick returner
b) is more explosive then sproles
c) went to Florida State

but imo, we shouldnt pick up either of those runningbacks. both are similar in nature to cj and i think we are more in need of a 3rd down back if anything.

I would like either Aaron Kampman or Julius Peppers.

Kampman is a possibility, Peppers is going to be way too expensive though.

Talking about washington, you do realize that he had a very nasty leg injury, like he ruptured something, some were saying career threating, so prolly no doubt if he can come back, his speed will be affected, and that is what he is known for.

Also there is no way San Diego is letting sproles get outta their with the way LT has been playing, or not playing recently. He might even get franchised again.

Thats why i say and will continue to say, that the biggest need is that of a kick returning/punt returning, that also doesn't have to start somewhere on off/def and can possible spell CJ w/o havin much drop off. therefore 1 + 1= CJ Spiller round 1 lock it up....ha

LT will not affect the decision on Sproles. Sproles proved he can't carry the load. Highly doubt he gets franchised again. That would be a waste of money for a kick returner who is solid as a BACKUP runningback.

Here are some names I noticed on the list that could help the Titans:

The Titans would like to keep Kerry but how much is he willing to come off that big paycheck? They'll not keep him around as a backup and pay him starter money, so the Titans may look for a QB as well. Chris Redman would be a solid backup and is unrestricted, but I think either Matt Moore (Carolina) or Troy Smith (Baltimore) would make more sense. My choice? Troy Smith

RB - The Titans will probably draft someone at this position but Jerious Norwood would be a great addition as would Kevin Faulk. Even with a little age on him, Faulk is a great change of pace and third down guy.

WR - There are several guys available here at a position that is still one of need for the Titans. Vincent Jackson would be great but I seriously doubt he gets out of San Diego. If he does, the Titans won't pay him. Brandon Marshall is too much of a headache for an organization that went through ups and downs with Pacman. I doubt we go after any of these guys but Steve Breaston would be a beast here. Kevin Walter would be a coup stealing him from Houston. Lance Moore would be an excellent addition and would come much cheaper this year than last.

The Titans are going to do some shopping on the defensive line, probably in the draft and in free agency. There are two DE's that stand out in my mind that would look great in two-tone blue. One is Johnny Jolly, now with Green Bay. He's a run-stuffer and is only 27 years old. My biggest concern is that he's a 3-4 guy and may not find the transition easy. The other is Ray Edwards from Minnesota. He's young (25) and has a motor much like KVB. He plays the run and pass well. Plus, he's not a household name so he fits the Titans "type".

At defensive tackle, there's Wilfork of course but I doubt he sees the door out of New England. Of course stranger things have happened, but would the Titans pay him? Perhaps a more reasonable choice for the Titans outside the draft is Aubrayo Franklin. He's no difference-maker but is a beast in the middle against the run. He's immovable. Another consideration from that list would be Ryan Pickett of the Packers. Actually, I'd love to see this guy on the Titans roster next year.

Linebacker is a huge area of need for the Titans. I love KB but if I were in the front office, there's no way I tie up much money in a LB his age coming off an ACL. We fans forget sometimes that it's a business. That said, the Titans could use two good linebackers this offseason, either from the draft or free agency. While Demeco Ryans is the "sexy" pick here I doubt he leaves Houston. If he does, he would be my first choice of all the free agents available. He's a playmaker and we'd weaken a division foe. If not, I'd be ecstatic over Barrett Ruud from Tampa Bay or Kirk Morrison from the Raiders. The only trouble is that either would mean a shift for Tulloch to the outside which may suit him even better anyway. Ruud would be a huge upgrade over Tulloch in the middle. Not that Tully is bad, but Ruud is BAAAAD at that position. Tully/Morrison is a bit of a toss-up. I'd give the nod to Tully because he knows the defense already. I'm not sure Morrison would transition well to the outside and I'd hate to lose Tully's quickness on the inside. Still, he'd be a nice addition especially against the run.

The Titans must find someone to play opposite Finnegan in the offseason. That much is obvious. What else is obvious is that the player is NOT currently on the Titans roster. Carlos Rogers would be great but I don't see it happening - that money thing again. Dunta Robinson would be great if he returns to form. The safest choice from that list may be Richard Marshall. It depends on how the chips fall but I don't know if there will be a corner worthy of a first round pick available when we draft.

It's not really a position of need with Kern back there now, but I would boot Kern and give good money to Jon Ryan if there weren't many holes to fill. The kid is amazing and could hold down the punter position for the Titans for at least a good 7-10 years at a high level. That said, Kern did a fine job and could very well anchor the Titans punting chores for a decade or more himself.

Wyatts' analysis of the team was pretty darn good. However, his fix is for us to draft somebody for every position. There simply isn't enough picks for that to happen.

It isn't like there are endless options for upgrading a position.

You can either draft someone, bring in a FA, or develop someone already on the roster.

The best way to do this is through the draft if good selections are made.
