Sounds as if he's serious about songwriting.

Titan QB Buys Music Row Publishing Property

ASH Street to relocate after aspiring country writer snaps up 16th Avenue home

By J.R. Lind

The former home of a Music Row publishing house is now in the hands of a Tennessee Titan.

Titans quarterback Kerry Collins purchased the 16th Avenue South home of ASH Street Music for $470,000 on Jan. 29. ASH Street, according to our sister pub MusicRow, is relocating to the Wyoming Avenue property of its owners, husband-and-wife team Thomas Gould and June McHugh.

It's unclear what plans Collins has for his new property. The 37-year-old two-time Pro Bowler is widely expected to be in a very limited role with the team after the re-emergence of Vince Young. Collins, however, has been very public about his long-term desire to be a country songwriter and has worked with established Nashville scribes Ed Hill and Billy Lawson and even had a song put on hold by superstar George Strait.

I really hope we part ways with Collins! Not that i don't think he can get the job done, I just think it's a complete waist paying him starter money to sit on the bench. It's time to get a younger backup QB that doesn't mind being a backup. We can really use that money for expiring contracts this year!

Just seeing this topic made me think he's getting way too much money for what he's doing, "Nobody" in the NFL would want him! So why should we?

The Titans are only going to keep him if they reduce his pay to backup money, and even then, they might go with a guy like Chad Pennington instead.

I think it's great that he wants to stick around, like so many others. Way to go Nashville! and I wish him all the best in his endeavors :)

He's written at least one song with a country music legend not mentioned in the article.

He's got a few titles registered I have found, no real legends attached to them.
