View Full Version : Vandy-UT part 2

Vandy is destroying the Vols right now. UT has scared me a few times this game, coming close to trimming the lead to single digits, but the Dores have responded each time. Beal is a monster, and the other guys are shooting much better than they did against Georgia.

I have been really impressed that Vandy can shoot free throws again. They have been almost perfect from the line tonight.

This is a huge game for Vandy.

Freshman John Jenkins was hospitalized earlier today. All I could tell was that he had about 5 IV drips, and he still hasn't recovered. I really hope he is ok.

Here are some of things that impressed me in this 90-71 victory:

1. Vandy went 37-43 (86.0%) from the free throw line.
2. Vandy out-rebounded UT 40-26.

Those two stats show how much more physical Vandy was tonight.

Congrats to Jeffery Taylor for scoring a career high 26 points. :thumbsup Beal had 20, and Oglivy had 11.

What a great win for Vandy. :bowdown UT now has to regroup and play UK on the road.

They beat Vandy Monday night in a close game in Nashville. The Lady Vols got the sweep, again. :sad

I remember my first Vandy/Vols game in Memorial over 40 yrs ago.... Vandy blowout of a pretty good Ray Mears team.

Now that looked like an aggressive basketball team. I'd sure like to see that same kind of effort against lesser opponents like Georgia.
