I heard on the radio today... may have been the DP show. They mentioned that if the NFL lengthen the schedule by a game that the extra game could be played in LA.

I wouldnt mind the extra game as long as they took away a pre-season game and I would rather have the oppurtunity to have that extra game at home on a rotating basis. Screw LA.

Wait, every team playing a game in LA?

Yea... Thats what they were getting at.

Wow I hope that doesn't happen. That would be really weird.

It would be awesome for LA though. Instead of just having 1 NFL team they would be able to see all 32.

I don't think a game should be played in LA unless they have a team of their own. Don't think Buffalo should be playing in Canada either.

Yep!

They'd say: "No fair! Everyone will get a chance to get used to playing in our new home stadium for the 2010 season a year early!"

San Diego is the perfect canidate (barring a new stadium deal). I really don't see a team from outside California moving to LA.

I don't want to see the Titans lose every time they visit them. :sad

Jags in Jacksonville = WIN
Jags in LA = LOSS

Stay in Jacksonville, PLEASE!

Or we could finally grow a set and WIN on the west coast.

Are the Vikings in need of a new place still?

I guess we will see this year.

As for the Vikings, they are still in limbo. This is the latest I have heard: http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/03/06/solution-found-in-vikings-stadium-impasse/

Makes me wonder who has the worst record on the west coast, east of the Mississippi river?

I know the Oilers/Titans franchise is way up there.

Titans/Oilers at LA Rams: 1-2
Titans/Oilers at Oakland/LA Raiders: 5-16
Titans/Oilers at San Diego: 5-15-1
Titans/Oilers at San Fransisco: 2-3
Titans/Oilers at Seattle: 1-6

Overall: 14-39-1 (26.9%)

If the Jags are moved to LA then I'd bet the league moves teams around in the AFC to get more local teams together.

Example: We'd swap Jacksonville for their Kansas City

AFC West
LA Jags
San Diego
Oakland
Denver

AFC South
Tennessee
Indianaplois
Houston
Kansas City

Remarks?

That would make sense.

KC has been in the AFC West since the old AFL days. I don't think JAX is going to be moving at any rate soon.

As of November of last year, west coast teams traveling east were 0 for 12.

Personally I think that its cyclical. One could claim we suck on the WC. One could claim the 0 - 12 record last year is because that group of WC teams simply sucks.

One has to take into account how good the Titans were and how good / bad the opponent was the year that they won / lost a particular game. The record itself is a suspect measurement due to the infrequency of play and the absence of any home / home comparisons.

These were the west coast road losses up through Nov 2008.

Seattle has lost at Buffalo, NY Giants and Tampa Bay.
San Diego lost at Buffalo and Miami.
Arizona lost at Washington and NY Jets.
San Francisco lost at the Giants.
Oakland lost at Buffalo.
Denver lost in New England.
Raiders lost in Baltimore.
the Cardinals lost in Carolina.
Seahawks lost in Miami.

They did get better after that. The 49ers won in Buffalo in week 13 (Nov 30). San Diego won in Tampa in week 16. And the Cardinals won in Carolina in the divisional round of the playoffs.
