Draft Party....???

The first round itself still last 3 1/2 hours. A little over 4 hours hanging out with friends while talking football sounds like a lot of fun to me.

I've never gone to any sort of draft party before because that first day of the draft just took way too long. I think this new format is a lot more fan friendly.

I agree Zach, I just wish it wasn't on a work/school night. Not a problem for me but a problem for just about everyone I know :(

The first round being on a Friday night would have been great for those wanting to hang out together.

I actually think the NFL took that into consideration. More people will stay home on a Thursday which means higher tv ratings. For me personally the draft ends early. Even if I was working still and if I was on the east coast those are like the prime hours for me to be out and about.

I agree the new format isn't as condusive to a draft party as the old one. I truly dislike it along with a lot of other changes Goodell is doing. Thursday night get togethers are generally hard for me because Friday is court day in just about every venue I practice in. Thursdays are usually a time for me to rest and focus if I have a big motion/hearing day on Friday. If we have a draft party I will do my best to be there though. :)

Last year, the first round was 3 hours and 23 minutes. The year before, when it was still 15 minutes per pick, it lasted 3 hours and 30 minutes.

I just wonder if it will be a little different with only a single round Thursday night. Teams may take the full time knowing they have at least half a day to worry about rounds 2 and 3. Though it might have the opposite effect as well.

That ^ got me started researching Swiss chocolate, and Lindt seems to be the only locally available brand I can find so far. I'm not done searching, though, and I've learned a lot about Swiss chocolate. Pretty interesting stuff!

By the way, I plan on being at USA at the start, which means I'll be there by KC's pick :D

Yeah...I love Lindt chocolate too....btw...you can buy "Toblerone" at Krogers too and a bunch of Nestlé (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nestl%C3%A9) products (technically, they are Swiss too.....)...Check this out..... http://www.nestle.com/Brands/BrandHome.htm
