View Full Version : Weird ESPN poll about Lance Armstrong and doping

Most polls on ESPN are cut and dry. This one (http://sports.espn.go.com/oly/cycling/news/story?id=5439369)seems weird to me.

How confident are you that Lance Armstrong never used performance enhancing drugs, as he has been alleged?

1. Completely confident
2. Very confident
3. Somewhat confident
4. Not confident

I would have just asked whether you think he has used them, and respond with Yes, No, Not Sure.

Can you really be "somewhat confident"? :huh How much difference is there between "completely" and "very" confident? What if you feel strongly that he used them?

Rant over...

'309 theres a science into this. i work for a healthcare company that (well one part) administers surveys to patients, physicians, employees, etc and we have a crack team of phds in stats that come up with similar answers. i have to take their nonsense and make the surveys online. i see this kind of crap all the time...doesnt make sense to me either--i'm a black and white type guy..but they calculate crazy breakouts, deviations, and such that really make the clients happy.
