A couple of things from the Tennessean (http://www.tennessean.com/article/20100820/SPORTS01/8200347/Titans+assistant+earns+quarterbacks++respect):
Now 29, Loggains is responsible for coaching some important Titans.Just prior to training camp he was promoted to quarterback coach, replacing Craig Johnson, who was switched to running backs coach to replace the departed Kennedy Pola. That bothers me -- the former QB coach now the RB coach. The position was important enough for Fisher to get Pola, yet now they're winging it with a QB coach. I know they gotta do what they gotta do, but it doesn't inspire any confidence in me. Hopefully MeJ doesn't need much help in that department.
Loggains knows at times he'll also need to be a buffer, a cheerleader and an emotion-booster.
That could be the case with the sometimes-moody Young in particular."I told (Loggains) I was going to send him a psyche 101 book so he could counsel his quarterbacks,'' said former Titans center Kevin Mawae, who has 16 seasons of NFL experience. "Obviously Vince is an extremely talented player with a lot of upside, but the issues with Vince are well documented, and that is something that Dowell will have to take on.I'm really hoping VY's history becomes the stuff of legends someday.
