Wide receivers Percy Harvin and Brandon Tate tested positive for marijuana during February's NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis, two sources told FOXSports.com.

The news could be potentially damaging to the wide receivers' stock during this weekend's NFL draft.

Harvin was considered a first-round pick after leaving the University of Florida following his junior season. Tate was considered a possible second- to fourth-round pick after a solid college career at North Carolina.

Sources told FOXSports.com Harvin and Tate were the only two high-profile players to flunk their combine drug tests, and one of the sources said that fewer than a dozen players tested positive for recreational drugs.

Players who failed the tests are subject to entry into the NFL's substance-abuse program.

Scratch those two off our list.... :facepalm

When I saw "fail drug test," I imagined the crazy stuff. Testing positive for weed won't really hurt their chances that much.

It should. How dumb do you have to be to get caught with weed in your system from a drug test you knew was coming weeks before? It shows a complete lack of respect for the law and for football, as well as an obvious lack of intelligence.

We tried a dumb, talented player in Pacman. It didn't work out. I doubt they try it again this soon. Which sucks, because I wanted Tate in round 2 or 3.

Obviously it was dumb, but it could just be an aberration and not an actual flaw of character.

Mario Manningham.

...Was a projected high round until he admitted to testing positive for marijuana twice.

I don't agree with the drug laws, but how much intelligence does it take to stay away especially when you are close to a test you know you will have to take? This is a character issue. Lack of self control (and lack of intelligence).

Who cares. Weed is not a drug. I'm no pot advocate but come on, these dudes are like 22. So no big deal. I must say that they are dumb asses for it, knowing their getting tested so they can be millionaires soon.

Its not about weed, get that out of your head. It has nothing to do with whether weed is harmful or not. Its about maturity, self-control and respect. Harvin and Tate failed all of those.

Someone will take a chance on them in the draft. there's too much talent there not to hope they can overcome their obvious character flaws and lack of intelligence. I just doubt the Titans will with Pacman still fresh on the mind.
