Seahawks release Housh (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/09/04/seahawks-release-tj-houshmandzadeh/)
Didn't see this posted elsewhere, forgive me if it's a duplicate or repeat.
Is he old, busted, and washed up enough for the Titans to pick him up? We do seem to be the graveyard where old recievers go to die.

I'm not sure he's reached Thigpen/Pickens status yet.

Likely replacing Houshmandzadeh in the starting lineup will be former Detroit first-round draft pick Mike Williams.

I wonder how big a chance Golden Tate will get now. Hopefully he can really contribute this season.

Pete Carroll was never an astute judge of talent in his previous NFL stops with the Jets and Patriots. Housh could just as easily have a good impact with a new team as he could be the bust that Carroll apparently thinks he is. I am not convinced that Mike Williams is that good. I remember when Steve Spurrier was the Redskins coach, he thought he could win with Danny Wuerffel and Shane Matthews playing QB. Just because a guy performed for a coach in college, doesn't mean he can perform in the NFL.

Housh was horrible last year under a completely different coaching staff. He's gotten old, slow, and still likes to whine and complain when he doesn't get the ball thrown to him.
I think Williams was brought in to camp just because he was a favorite of Carroll's at USC, but he has earned his spot on the roster. He has looked pretty good in the preseason this year.

David Givens sends his regards, and wants his money. :)

I dont think it's old recievers.... just recievers in general

Much of his magic got lost at Cinnci. He showed he was a reliable WR and then OchoCinco had a huge problem, since the ball wasn't thrown his way too much. I am still looking for answers as why teams like Seattle haven't found another "Steve Largent" in so much time. They have Branch, but he is old and slow..still, a reliable WR, though.
Last great thing for Seattle was when they found a good RB, who suffered the Madden Curse..and sunk he went.

I thought they released TJ because of money issues not because of lack of production.

The hell, I was just saying how he was looking good in pre-season, making some spectucular grabs and nifty moves after the catch... I guess that's why I don't coach in the NFL - I apparently don't know my ass from a hole in the ground. Because some of these cuts baffle me
