I just saw that. That's a good trade for both sides. HMMM, Pettigrew might be available at #30 now....

Matt Ryan has to be pretty excited. That offense is looking good for this upcoming season.

Why would the Chiefs trade for a 2010 pick? :huh

Turner + Ryan + White + Gonzalez = a dangerous offense.

Shore up that defense and they'll make a lot of noise in the NFC.

Why do you think it's a bad trade? for the Chiefs?

Sounds like a reasonable deal to me. Gonzalez can still make the plays, although he's winding down, career wise....

Yea, that's sorta what I thought. A second rounder for a guy who is in the final years of his career, plus he's not been happy in like forever.

great trade for both teams. Maybe the chiefs are hoping they can get Jermaine Gresham next year

I'm still in shock. Happy for Tony but depressed for myself. He and Gunther were the only reasons I still cheered for the Chiefs and now they're both gone. I guess the divorce really is final now.

There may not be a salary cap .. knowing how they spend . . .

The Falcons really needed that upgrade. They were done no favors with the NFL schedule which looks to be very tough for them. Ryan, who was likely to be running for his life, has the ultimate life line in Gonzo.

Very happy for Tony Gonzalez. He'll get a chance to play for a contender again. The Chiefs will get a second second-round pick to help the rebuilding process.

They weren't going to get a pick that high in this years draft for him and turning that team around is going to take several years. I think the Chiefs come out on top in this trade though I don't really see it as a bad trade for the Falcons. The Falcons are building to try and win now so a pick in next years draft wont really hurt them.

I can't think of a position on this team where we have less of a need. I doubt he'll drop that far anyways, so it's most likely a moot point.

I think this a good trade for both teams. The rebuilding Chiefs get a solid draft pick while the Falcons get another weapon for Ryan. I think Gonzo will fit nicely as the safety valve option for Ryan.

I also think it was a good trade for both teams. even though he is nearing the end of his career he is still one of the most productive te's in the league and will provide the young qb in Ryan with a verry reliable and sure handed safety outlet. he has only had one season under 900 yds from scrimage since 2000 and over 1000 yds last year.

Even though he is at the end i still think that atlanta got the better end of the deal.

even though he is old, he still produces more than any TE out there.

Bo is tagged on a one year deal (and unhappy), Alge is up also after this year and Stevens is an unknown. We utilize TE quite a bit. IDK but I think I'm going to have to disagree. I think we'll draft at least one TE.

Bo isn't going anywhere. If he isn't signed long term then he will most likely be franchised again next year. That is assuming a new CBA gets worked out too. If a new CBA doesn't get worked out then I'm pretty sure he goes back to being a restricted free agent for one more season.

I'm not going to try and predict what the Titans will do in the draft. But let's just say I won't have a big shocked look on my face if and when we draft a TE. Also, I wouldn't pass on Pettigrew just because we have Bo Scaife, Alge Crumpler, Craig Stevens and Casey Cramer on the roster. :)

Gonzalez set up and paid for his own news conference at a downtown hotel to say goodbye to the city where he played for 12 years and became the most productive tight end in NFL history.

The Chiefs are really losing a great guy...

Thanks for posting that. Last night one of my KC buddies told me people are either saying what a class act Tony is, or blaming him with whiney tantrums. Either way he's going to be greatly missed and I'm glad he plans on retiring a Chief.

Even if Tony whined a little bit this past year, he deserves leeway for watching this sink ship during his entire tenure in Kansas City. He had to sit by while Marty Schottenheimer decided to play a rusty Elvis Grbac instead of a hot Rich Gannon, which allowed the Chiefs to blow a potential Super Bowl to the eventual champion Broncos. And that was as close as he ever got as the QB carousel never came to an end.
