Sen Derrick Marks DT Auburn!!
LiamVengeance

The draft pick process should be simple.
Teams pick each round as they finished.
That means teams like the Ravens don't pick ahead of the Titans who they beat in the playoffs last year.
That's just stupid.
From next year thats happening you could go 16-0 but lose in the Divisional and you'd be picking before the team that beat you

With the #62 OVERALL Pick of the 2009 NFL Draft the Tennessee Titans select Sen'Derrick Marks, DT from Auburn.........

TitansFan23
04-25-2009, 09:47 PM
basically teams who are in the super bowl are 32 and 31 then they go by record, titans having a 13-3 record draft 30th... it is pretty simple
Not it isn't.
Why should a team who was still playing while Tennessee is sitting at home get to pick before them?
Teams in the playoffs should be seeded in the draft as they finished; therefore, the Titans should be picking before the Ravens.
That's my contention.

LE - Javon Kearse (backed up by Ford)
DT - Tony Brown (backed up by Vickerson)

broncos traded up for a guy who has 12 career receptions 124 yards and 2 tds?
TitansFan23
04-25-2009, 09:54 PM
Since Moore played in the Titans back-yard, I have to believe they weren't too impressed with him.
Also, he's only 5'8", so, he'd have problems with the taller receivers in the league.

It is changing next year, but is the current system that bad? Should an 11-5 team like the Patriots get to pick before an 8-8 team like the Chargers, because one was lucky to reach the playoffs and one was not?

Yes.
That's the price you pay for being in a soft division.
You get a shot in the post-season, but you pick later in the draft.
I believe all teams in the NFL would take that trade-off.

Michael Johnson too.....getting a D.J. or Michael Johnson who had late first round grades at this stage is worth getting rid of some of the excess picks....we're not going to have 10 draft picks make the roster this year
LiamVengeance
04-26-2009, 08:49 AM
Yeah this is the time for us to trade up, we have a compensatory in each round which is like 2 after our normal picks as we pick first out of all the comp. picks i think. so we could just trade our 5,6 & 7 at this point for a 3rd, we should keep our 3rd at this point, as there is a lot of talented players in this round who have fell

I prefer Macho Harris or Ladarious Webb to DJ Moore. Or even Mike Mickens. I'd like us to pick Jason Williams (OLB) in the third if he's there. I like Rashard Jennings (RB) a lot too and we have the picks to move up and get him or even Shonn Greene in the third. Jared Cook and Shawn Nelson are still there too and they'd be great value picks at this point.

the only pick im itchy about so far is Britt cause i feel we settled for him but WOW finding a future pro bowl tight end in Cook makes this draft great
I think Britt will do great. He's big and aside from Crabtree he probably has the most upside out of any other wide outs in the draft.

He must be feeling pretty down, being picked at minimum right now around 80 picks after your projected thats if he goes within the next few picks.

Thats cool. I just don't see the point in using a late round pick on a QB. In my opinion if QB was a need we should have traded up and got Freeman. I just don't see the roster space for a low draft pick. Four QBs is to many and it is not quite time to cut VY yet. Especially for a lower round developmental pick.

Sidbury:
The Good: Possesses a solid build for the position and displays good closing speed in space. Has impressive body control and balanced footwork that allow him to split blocks and beat linemen with his lateral quickness. DISPLAYS ONE OF THE MOST IMPRESSIVE SPIN MOVES IN THE COUNTRY. Understands leverage and does a nice job getting his hands inside linemen, pulling the rug out from under them and then closing on the ball.
The Bad: Lacks a great first step off the ball and will never be able to consistently turn the corner in the NFL. Does not display great power in his lower body and will struggle at the point of attack in the run game.

(on what kind of grade they had on Jared Cook)
We had a high grade on Cook. He was one that we considered in the second.
(on if it was difficult giving up a second rounder next year for Jared Cook)
No it wasn’t. Mike [Reinfeldt] and I discussed it and we were both of the opinion that it was the right thing to do. We should get a compensatory three for Albert [Haynesworth] next year. We will be fine. These kind of guys don’t come along very often with the skills that Jared has.
Rolltide14TOMB
04-26-2009, 02:09 PM
on whether blocking will be Jared Cook’s biggest challenge)
Yes. He is a former wide receiver. I don’t know why they didn’t leave him there. He is probably faster than any wide receiver we have just about except [Nate] Washington maybe who we just signed. He is going to create tremendous mismatches out there in the slot and you can move him around. He is not the typical wide receiver coming in. He is not afraid to block, he hasn’t done it enough. He has to learn to get a better power base, but he will come along and be effective there. I’ll tell you the mismatches that he is going to create out in the slot and moving him around is unbelievable. He has unbelievable hands and good long speed.
