For my inaugural post on the new board, I would like to continue my 3rd annual draft day thread:

So who do you predict the Titans will draft???
RohitTheNair

With the 30th selection in the 2009 NFL Draft the Tennessee Titans select Darius Bulter, Cornerback, Connecticut.

I like darius butler...alot.
if/when vontae davis is gone...butler would be my 2nd choice.

I think they either move up in the 1st to get Hakeem Nicks or move up in the second to ensure that they get Ramses Barden. I know it was a repeat but, I saw these 2 on the college football challenge last night and they are both HUGE and could be the big body reciever the titans need this year. I think the titans have their eyes set on the superbowl in 2010 vs. drafting for depth and as dinger said, we need someone who can start at WR right away. So heres my picks for rnds 1-3.
WR - either Hakeem Nicks rd 1 or Ramses Barden rd 2
Depending on which WR they get: With Ramses in the 2nd theyd pick up best available corner in the 1st. If they get Nicks in the 1st, theyll try to pick up Sen'Derrick Marks in the 2nd.
3rd round - Jason Williams - OLB Western Ill (small school player. although this pick may get packaged in a deal to move up a few spots in rd 1 or 2)
Bonus: 4th round - Roy Miller (my pick for the 1 Texas player the titans will get)
I know people are gonna critique me and say that they shouldnt have to move up for Ramses or if they get Nicks, there is no way SenDerrick is available that late in the 2nd but, stuff happens each year and I believe it will turn out this way so :P

My guess is Clay Matthews III, LB, USC. I just don't know if he will be available then.

It will be interesting to see where CM3 goes. I guess it will hinge on which programs bought into the steroid allegations.

USC has a lot of big time players in the draft this year.
But anyways, I am thinking Cornerback most likely. Probably Davis or Butler.

The Titans need wide receivers and Percy Harvin of Florida is a big time WR. Sure, he tested positive for smoking marijuana. The Titans passed on Randy Moss because of marijuana allegations in 1998, and I'm betting that they don't want to make the same mistake again.
So, my guess is Percy Harvin of Florida. Anyway, every village needs an idiot and I guess that's me.

They regret not choosing Moss, no doubt. But inbetween that time, they've also learned what drafting someone with talent but who's got character issues can do to your entire team, so if Harvin is there when we pick, and we pass him by, you can probably throw one more pebble on the mountain that is "pac-man's fault".

I guess that the FO has to decide if Harvin is smart enough not to be like another Titan, Travis Henry.

I say a cornerback first round. darius butler, second a WR maybe..
I'd like to see them get kenny britt...or jarron gilbert in the second
Titansfan777

gilbert is an interesting player...he has the size and athleticism of haynseworth , and is also a project player
Rick Gosselin's final mock has us taking Alphonso Smith

Goodell tools on over to the mike to bore us for a minute before getting started. Why do the Detroit Lions have a clock at all? It was already predetermined. Matthew Stafford, QB/Georgia. Probably the wealiest draft pick ever. I really hope he pans out. Because it could be the end of the franchise if he doesn't.

Drama: Oakland gives their entire franchise to the Titans. LOL. For two picks next year.
I don't think that there is going to be a Brady Quinn-esque moment where they eventually stick someone in the janitor's closet to avoid the glaring spotlight of the camera.

I think the Bengals did well to get Smith. All he did in College for 4 years was to maul everyone he played against in the SEC.
The combine crap showed he was getting some poor advice and perhaps had some maturity issues; however, on the field all he did was dominate.
Great value.

Crabtree will almost assuredly be the first WR taken (save for the Al Davis selection), so IMO as he falls he pushes the other receivers down the board with him.
I'm not saying they'll fall to 30 by any means, but if by some miracle one of them fell to around the 20-25 range, things could get interesting.

Where do you get the notion that Bey is prone to dropsies?
I agree Crabtree is hands down the better reciever, and Oakland stretched by a long shot taking Bey where they did, but the boy can catch. You're predicting total washout?
