Welcome to the Titans Javon Ringer!
This is probably the final nail in the coffin to Chris Henry's career here...And it also must be very dissappointing to Rafael Little who I thought would emerge as our #3 running back...Our running back depth next season:
1a. Chris Johnson
1b. LenDale White
3. Javon Ringer
4. Rafael Little/Quinton Ganther

I think we got excellent value for this guy as the last pick in the 5th round.

This has been an insanely good draft.
This has been an insanely good draft.
Reinfeldt and Fisher are laying the wood to this draft.

Excellent value pick. I'm loving our draft. Our offense should be scary next year. :D

So long Henry and Q. Little and Ringer will fight for that third back position.
After CJ went down in the play-off game last year is was evident that we needed another small quick back.

My son in law is a huge Irish fan and said this guy from Michigan State just killed them. He thinks he will be a beast.

Did you read this guys bio?
The coaching staff is still amazed that after undergoing surgery to repair torn knee ligaments in late September, 2006, he was back on the field carrying the ball just a little over a month later. :ohmy
With all of those lofty numbers, Ringer still remained the consummate team player. One example of his unselfishness came in his press conference after rushing for five touchdowns vs. Eastern Michigan in 2008. He led his entire offensive line on to the dais with him, telling all the media assembled, "these guys are the real game MVPs and deserve all the credit."
Two weeks later, after rushing for 201 yards vs. Notre Dame, Ringer repeated the process, trying to share the spotlight. He brought a slew of offensive linemen, tight ends and fullbacks to the news conference. "We were able to win because of these guys," Ringer said. "Not because of me." :thumbsup

Sounds like a solid character guy with some ball skills.
Plus, he grades almost as high as Jared Cook. :thumbsup

Holy crap. They have to gang tackle to bring this guy down. He is amazing. I can't wait to see him on Sundays! It looks like we are going to have some serious depth at running back!

This has been an insanely good draft.
Let's wait until we see the production on the field.
I heard an interview with him today and came away impressed. He is very articulate and seems to be a great character guy.
He will also be a great team guy. When asked what made him choose Michigan State over the other schools He said more than anything it was how he felt when he met the team and he was sure it was something he wanted to be part of.

Doing some further reading, Ringer was projecting at a first or second round pick coming into his senior year, but injuries kept him from performing as well during the season and during his pro-day/workouts.
Our drafting is a little bit of a gamble (one I'm glad we made). It's possible he might never be 100% again after his injuries and surgeries, in which case he's not going to have any real chance of making it in the nfl. But if he heals back up and is able to get back 100% again, then forget Chris Henry, LenDale White is going to need to look out for his job.
If Ringer is fully healthy and back to 100% speed, I predict he will be the best second-day value pick the Titan's will have made since C-Finn.

Wasn't Ringer like in the race for the heisman for a lot of the season?

I heard that too. Being bright and articulate doesn't mean he's a good player, but it can't hurt. LOL He sounds really glad to be a Titan, and he knows what that means.

Tim Tebow, in all his good graces, allowed Ringer to be included in the discussion for the Heisman. After being embarrassed in the Swamp, he unleashed his wrath upon all of college football and from that point onward, no CFB player was allowed to be discussed by any media outlet in relation to any postseason awards unless that player's name was Tim Tebow.

we may have a three headed monster on our hands guys!!! and i would love to see that much like the gaints did last year! but let me tell you, i love all our picks! this is by far my favorate draft class ever! they are all great players and people, all with different and fun personalities, but, they all ooz a swagger about them that i have never seen from a draft class! my favorate of this class though is ringer! i have seen him play some in college, he is an awesome back, and a feirce competitor! but, he is a way better person! the more i read about him, the more my love for him grows, the the more intense my desire grows to see him play along side johnson and white! his parents are ministers at a penticostal church in ohio where he is from! he was very active in the community in michigan, and i know that he will make his mark here quick! he is a breath of fresh air!

I see Little and Ringer battling for the 3rd spot. I could easily see us keeping 4 RB's so the one who doesn't get the 3rd spot will probably compete with Q for the 4th. That guy will have to show something on ST in some capacity though. It seems inevitable that Chris Henry's days are numbered.

The most impressive Chris Henry has ever done as a pro is get up from that hit....Oh well, off to the CFL he goes..
I think Ringer will spend this season on the practice squad because I think Little wins the 3rd RB spot this year because of his returning abilities....But I can definately see Ringer be our 3rd RB sometime in the future....I seem to be one of the few people to think we wil re-sign LenDale after this year. I think he has a monster year and we give him what he wants, just a gut feeling. I sure hope so...And of course, C.J. is here to stay as well....The 4 man battle for the 3rd RB spot: Flash (Little), Crash (Ringer), Grind (Ganther), and Blind (Henry)..Haha
