I have to go with Jared Cook. I think it is possible we will see more production from Cook than Britt. Don't get me wrong though. I am still stoked about Britt.

Other than Britts and Cook, I voted for Marks.

I think that he will be a very good addition.

definately "big body" and "captain cook"... not sure who will be more productive but i cant wait to start reading about how they do throughout the offseason

I voted for Ringer simply because I think he can come in and take a good chunk of Lendale's carries and do more with them. Lendale will be relegated to strictly being the goal-line/short yardage back.

If you limit it to their first year, I have to say Britt, Ryan Mouton (ST) and possibly Ringer. I just don't think Cook or Marks will see that much playing time at first. Possibly as the year goes on they will. Long term I'd say Cook, Britt and Marks for sure. I think Britt will definitely make a mark his first year.

This is interesting. Two votes for Edison and one for Britt. Its still early in the poll, but that is a little strange.

I thought we left the Ealy fan club back on the TOMB.

Barring injury, Edison's not going to see the field as the (at-best) 5th receiver, unless he does some ST.

It's a close tie between four or five, so I just chose the 1st pick. I'm very deep and complicated like that.

Cook. The second I heard a comparison to Shannon Sharpe, I started drooling. Man that's a sexy football thought.

And I was just fine with Britt too...

Maybe it's just me, but I think it's funny that fans have been praying for a first or second round WR for years and now no one is that excited about him...LOL

Im excited, but I still dont know that he will be that legitimate number one we have been looking for. I hope he is. Either way we should expect him to step in and contribute.

Plus there's a big IF.

If Fisher decides to start him. We know that we don't get that much from rookie WRs in their first year..if ever.

I think he'll contribute, but he definitely won't be a starter at first. Gage and Washington will start, and I expect Hawkins and Britt to rotate in.

Now how good he'll do his first year remains to be seen. But the reports right now are that he's already in studying Tenn's routes and plays, which is very encouraging.

Im very excited about the picks! I think Britt and Jared Cook will be able to contribute this year. I believe at least Britt will start this year based off of comments from Jeff Fisher and Mike Reinfieldt. And Cook will play too as fisher responded with a confident "yes" when asked if he thought Cook would immediately contribute to the offense. How much longer until OTAs?

I vote Britt. Resigning Collins, picking up Nate and now Britt in the first. Is there a little more focus on pass here?

Nah.....

Some stats from former rookie receivers:

Dyson (1998) - played 13 games, started 9. 21 receptions for 263 yards and 2 TDs.

Bennett (2001) - played 14 games, started 1. 24 receptions for 329 yards and 1 TD.

Calico (2003) - played 14 games, started 2. 18 receptions for 297 yards and 4 TDs.

Brandon Jones (2005) - played 10 games, started 8. 23 receptions for 299 yards and 2 TDs.

Cortney Roby (2005) - played 13 games, started 6. 21 receptions for 289 yards and 1 TD.

Roydell Williams (2005) - played 10 games, started 2. 21 receptions for 299 yards and 2 TDs.

Hawkins (2008) - played 13 games, started 1. 7 catches for 68 yards and 0 TDs.

------------------------------------------

The Titans have never had a standout rookie receiver, but most of these guys have made contributions. I will be curious to see if Britt can pass Drew Bennett's rookie record of 329 receiving yards in a season.

Nice stats brought, 309. As always.

And I agree, they had not been stand-outs.

Thanks 309! I always felt it was overstated that we wouldn't play rookie receivers. It's generally been an individual thing as I did remember Dyson and Drew played a lot for rooks. I thought JMac did too? Maybe it was his second year I'm thinking about.

EDIT: Yea, it was his second year. He only played in 4 games his first and didn't really do much

I'm curious. Were there any WR's available in the first when we picked that you think could be that legitimate #1 WR?

I wouldn't be surprised if our first seven picks make the team. Looking for "starter potential" out of Britt with significant playing time (beyond special teams) from Marks, Cook and Ringer.

Watch out for Mitch King as well.
"We were surprised when he went undrafted," Titans scout Mike Ackerley said. "Mitch is a high-energy, high-motor player. He is aggressive at the defensive tackle spot and a really good football player."

I had to vote for Britt on the basis he's a First Round WR pick. If he can actually be productive remains to be seen however. All in all our picks excite me, and there is always the chance of picking up a veteran or two to add to the fold.

No. I wasn't expecting there to be one either. Recievers are tough to judge, but I think Crabtree and Maclin were the best options. Nicks and Britt were in a tie for third best in my opinion.

I do think Britt will be a solid contributor. I just don't know if he will ever be in the same category of Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitz., Andre Johnson, or even Derrick Mason. It is my hope he will be. I guess Im just a little wary of the Titans ability to judge reciever talent.

Ok, I was just wondering. I agree with you about past WR's, but I posted something similar to this on another board. It seems to me that Reinfelt, far more than Reese ever did, is letting our coaches participate in the decision making on our draft picks. Dinger pulled the plug on CJ last year and Britt again this year, so I'm cautiously optimistic that our past failures are a thing of the past.

That used to be true, but not as much the last few years. As fantasy football players know full well, it used to be 3rd year was the "break-out" year for WRs. Eddie Royal had a fantastic season for a rook, and the gent that prepared him also spent time with Britt. I've got a warm fussy feeling about Britt. Same way I felt about CJ ( who exceeded my wildest imagination for a 1st season ). I hope I'm right. Cook is raw, and to be honest I wonder what we're gonna do with him. I see a lot of experimenting and tweaking in his future.
The honest answer though, I'm crazy excited about this entire draft class. I'm proud of our scouting and FO for getting us a superb group of young men.
