NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Earlier this week, Titans linebacker Keith Bulluck was recognized at his former high school, Clarkstown North in New City, N.Y. for his contributions made both on and off the field. The school retired Bulluck’s No. 1 jersey after a storied career that saw him excel at safety and linebacker on defense and at running back, wide receiver and quarterback on offense.
His prowess on the field led to a full scholarship at Syracuse University and a first round selection in the 2000 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans.
Eventually at Clarkstown North, there will be a boulder, similar to the famed Clemson Rock that will bear Bulluck’s name and that every football player will pass as they make their way to the football field. For now, the school designed a full color banner of a Titans-uniformed Bulluck returning an interception with the words “Pride, Honor, Sprit” and “Dedication” emblazoned on it that will hang over the entrance to the football field recognizing its most famous alum.
Bulluck was honored by many past coaches, administrators, family and friends, including his former high school coach Ed Henry, who admired him as both a person and football player.
“The longer he was with you, the better he played and the more of a leadership role he assumed,” Henry told the Lower Hudson Journal News. “His defining moment? Every day was a defining moment for him.”
