This has always been my favorite golf tournament of the year. I won't get to watch much of it till Sunday, but it should be a great one.
Snedeker had an early tee time today, and he is 1 under after 6 holes. From the early going, the course isn't playing particularly easy or hard. The best score is -2 and the worst is +3, with most golfers at even.

Good luck to Brandt!

Snedeker had a solid round with 4 birdies and one bogey to finish at 3 under. He is currently tied for third place, with Rory McIlroy in the lead at 5 under (through 12).

For some reason I've always been a big fan of Sergio Garcia's even though he has never really played all that well in the U.S..
As for the Masters, I love it and will always love it. The course is just so gorgeous and it just gives you a nice reminder that Spring is here (even if it's rainy and cold here). I'm not really a fan of the politics of the course but I don't watch people play there for the politics.
As always I will be cheering for Sergio and against Tiger (I hope Tiger never catches Jack). I'm not quite sure who will win because I don't really know many of the newcomers on the tour. I've also never had much faith in Mickelson in majors. I love his imagination and skill but his nerves just seem to get the better of him in the big tournaments.

I was rooting for Tom Watson. Apparently the old man imploded early. His British open run back in '09 was an amazing feat. Oh well.

I always root for the old guys like Fred Couples, Greg Norman, etc. I first started playing golf when Norman was dominating so he became someone I tried to model my game after.

Through 9 holes, Brandt was 5 under par then he got a triple bogey and dropped to 2 under, geesh!

McIlroy has pretty much collapsed today. He just triple bogeyed a hole (bad shot combined with real bad luck followed by another bad shot) and is now 2 strokes back of the lead. Tiger just knocked one within a couple feet and has an eagle chance to give him the lead (on 15). There are currently 4 guys at 10 under, 2 at 9 under, and 3 at 8 under. It's going to be a good afternoon.

Tiger just lipped out his eagle putt from like 2 feet away. He is now in a 5 way tie at 10 under. He only has 3 holes left to play. The rest have a few more than that.

Watching Rory play right now is tough to do. Hopefully this day doesn't mess up his mind for the rest of his golf career.

I hate that for Rory, but it could be a big learning experience for him. Brandt had a decent day and Tiger looks better than he he as since his down fall.

Great finish to such a great tournament. Three Aussies in the top five is a great showing by them, but Schwartzel outplayed them all with four straight birdies on 15, 16, 17, and 18.
It's funny that the lead up to this tournament was all the talk about all the good young Europeans and yet it was dominated by 4 guys (6 if you count Choi and Cabrera) neither from Europe or America.

His back 9 reminded me of Van De Velde collapsing under pressure at the British Open a few years back.
