UT actually has played Vandy very well the past few years, winning 5 of the last 6 games. But Vandy had their revenge this weekend, winning 10-1, 10-1, and 19-3. :thumbsup
Vandy doesn't get a lot of chances to crush UT in anything, so I will take what I can get. :D

If a college baseball game is played and no one is around to watch was it really played?

There certainly were plenty of people at those games at Vandy. What is disappointing is that the SEC used to be the best conference in baseball, and now there are three top 5 teams (SC, Vandy, and Florida) and the rest are nothing special.

I doubt many went there for the athletic program; conversely at UT....is there another reason?

UT has some pretty solid programs.
Course, they're probably not as refined and sophisticated as the Commodores, I'm sure.

It's college baseball - the red-headed stepchild of the NCAA. Last season the clinching game of the series drew only 1.8 million viewers and a 1.2 rating! (Game one of the series drew only 1.1 million viewers and a .8 share). College sports are great, but very few care about college baseball. If it were a televison series it would be cancelled.

Thank goodness it isn't a television series then.
I will cheer for any sport where my local team, my state team, or my country is doing well in. I got excited when the Vandy women won the bowling championship a few years ago (and finished 2nd this year). I care nothing about how popular it is on TV. I have pride in Vandy, and I am really hoping this is the year they finally make it to the college world series.

In all honesty, I hope they do too because I know how happy it'll make all my Vandy buddies. (including you 309!)
But I just know they'll blow it.

You are probably right about that one (see my prior references to basketball).
