FYI The NFL network is replaying 2008 Titans vs Colts today.

That was a great Monday night game. Many did not expect us to win it. We had to prove that we were for real. Here is the boxscore

Many did not expect us to win it.

I would say the majority favored the Titans. We were 6-0. They were 3-3. The Titans were coming off a 34-10 victory over the Chiefs. The Colts were coming off a 34-14 beatdown by the Packers.

The big shocker of this game was that the Colts did a pretty good job of stopping the run, something they struggled with all year. We had only 88 yards rushing, 77 by CJ (though we did get three rushing TDs).

This is the game where Collins went from being a "game manager" to "primary offensive threat". He was 24 for 27 with 193 yards, no TDs but no interceptions. He really moved the ball well in the 2nd hald.

I personally felt at that time like many in the media were favoring the Colts. I remember some talk before the game as now we would see if the Titans were for real. I remember Kornhiser seemed to be thinking the Colts would beat us before the game and then really flip flopping during the game. The announcers kept being in shock that we were passing so much. They expected us to ground and pound the run. Kerry was very sharp. I remember he threw a perfect td ball to Sarge but Sarge dropped the ball.

We passed so much because the Colts committed everything to stopping the run (which other teams tried to emulate, with about the same results). I am not sure why the announcers couldn't see that.

The 4th down stops against the Colts were memorable. This was definitely a game were the Titans made fewer mistakes than the Colts, and it paid off.

That game proved to me that we could take on the better teams in meaningful games and beat them. That game, the first Balt game, the Pitt game and the Chicago game were my favorite games of last season.

I saw the Code Blue game, yesterday. I liked the approach and how we played against pay-me-a-ton. Offense and Defense played on one note most of the game.

Best part of that game was LenDale's TD stretch and the ensuing Hope INT followed by the CJ TD...It got LOUD!
