View Full Version : Redskins sign Roydell Williams
Roydell Williams-WR- Redskins May. 4 - 3:45 pm et
Redskins signed WR Roydell Williams, formerly of the Titans.
Williams, 28, led Tennessee in receiving two years ago, but fell out of the league last season when he couldn't recover quickly from ankle surgery. The operation was extensive and it's unclear if it's affected Williams' already mediocre long speed. He's competing for a roster spot.

the best of luck to him
it was dissappointing what happened to him considering he was showing glimpses of quality before he was injured

Good luck to him. He wasn't a bad receiver, given the chance he might have even been better than some of the 'healthy' guys we had last year.

Williams was a decent receiver here. All the best to him.
His Head 'Spinning,' Roydell Williams Starts Anew
Although Roydell Williams spent last weekend at the Minnesota Vikings' minicamp, his agent told him to accept an offer that came from the Redskins.
Williams, 28, tied for a team-high 55 catches with the Tennessee Titans in 2007 before an ankle injury in the playoffs stunted his career. He was "shocked" that the Titans did not keep him after his injury.
"It's been a tough road, especially coming off the season I had," Williams said. "I try not to dwell on all that. I try to keep a positive mindset. I landed with a team and I'm happy that these guys are very welcoming. We have great leadership at the receiver spot, a great receivers coach and I feel at home here.".....

Roydell could do well there. He's going into a situation where he'll probably compete for the 3rd receiver role. He could excel at that role. He's much better suited for that than being a #1 like he was here in Tennessee.
Does anybody else think the skins are going to dominate their division this year?

No, but I think they're poised to make a surprise run at the playoffs.
