''This is for everybody. I don't care if I was on San Diego's team, New England, any team. You can go get Emmitt Smith [to come back]. You can go get anyone. I will never run from competition,'' White said. ''I never have and I never will. Ask Reggie Bush [or] Chris Johnson."

I hope he can be a little quicker and shiftier and would love to see he, cj and ringer do great.
I hope lendale gets a descent contract from somebody next year wheather its from our titans or someone else.
And I hope that ringer will take the 2 spot behind cj after this year and not due to default either.

Slimmer White Finds Motivation in Playoff Fumble
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — LenDale White, the running back whose weighty struggles caused him to
plummet in the 2006 NFL Draft, finally has found motivation to shape up that works for him.
His second fumble of the 2008 season...

I truly beleive that he isnt doing this for the money....I truly beleive that he wants to be great and wants to be a Titan for the rest of his career....Now, im no motion analyst, but something about the facial expression he made after the reporter brought up contract year convinced me that he was very irked by people thinking he would do that....Honest interview if you ask me.

He knows damn well its a contract year and he's said before it's part of the reason why he's working so hard.

As usual, there's a raging debate on Titanscental over Lendale. :lol So, one poster is arguing that Lendale should get credit and kudo's for being the best 2nd RB the Titans have ever had. For argument purposes, let's accept that as being true.
My question is this: Does the fact that Lendale is the best second RB the Titans have had mean he was a successful draft choice? Do we give the guy kudo's because as a 2nd round draft pick he's been relegated to second duty behind CJ? Is it enough that he "vultures" TD's from CJ?
IDK but I have to say that Lendale has failed to meet expectations as a 2nd round pick. As a highly touted RB from USC who many rated over Reggie Bush and who had such potential, he has failed to meet expectations, IMO. I give the guy credit for being tough and playing through injury but he could have been so much more. His lack of conditioning and inability to report to camp in shape is disappointing to say the least. As a 2nd round pick, he could have been the featured back for many years but he ate his opportunities away or at the least failed to show the commitment to conditioning that he should have. Does anyone think Lendale thinks it's bragging rights to be the number 2 behind CJ? I don't think so. At least that's what I think. What do you peeps think?

he is a heck of a lot more successful than some of our past 2nd rounders...CJ is not a fair comparison because of how godly he is...a LOT of guys would be dropped to 2nd team behind CJ even FIRST round guys...lenDale has become a household name and a face (ableit a chunky one) of the titans. he has yet to fall completely into obscurity and i will hold back on judgement of how good a pick it was until after this season...i have the strange feeling that a slim #21, deicated LW could be special.

It is interesting that his 80 yard TD run against KC was when he was weighing 261lbs...
If he can gain a step or two of quickness, he can be a much more effective back at ~235 lbs.
There were so many runs last year were he could of had 5-10 more yards if he was a little faster. I found myself often thinking, "If that was CJ, it would have been a huge gain."

His lack of conditioning and inability to report to camp in shape is disappointing to say the least.
That right there means he was not a successful choice IMO. Even after CJ was drafted, I didn't see LW playing up to the level of his new competition. It appears he needed CJ, a fumble, and a contract year for the lightbulb to go on. If he turns it around this year and re-signs (essentially paying back the team he stole from) then I'll say he was a successful pick.

well thankfully we may have squandered a super bowl just so lendale's light switch could come on....:king

Couldn't agree more. They should showcase him during the preseason and then trade his ass, because they aren't going to pay his lazy whining ass after this season is over.
