I asked about a drop off without Albert. A few minutes later they posted a message that thousands are asking the same question.

What would you say is the hardest hit you've dished out during your time in the league and who was on the receiving end of it?
Cortland Finnegan, Tennessee Titans
Actually, it was Todd Heap on the Ravens. It was last season in Baltimore. He ran an out route, and then I got him, I feel like I baptised him.
He has earned my eternal respect with that answer!! :D

Could we see more stomping of the terrible towel this year?
Cortland Finnegan, Tennessee Titans
No, absolutely not. Certain individuals may do that, but that's not what this team is all about. That's not what this coach is about, that's not what our team is about. You do it inbetween the lines ... the rest of it is unacceptable.

Do you think that the team is better than last year and could win the superbowl this season?
C_finnegan_hs_08_40x55
Cortland Finnegan, Tennessee Titans
Absolutely. I think we're a year more mature. We return 10 starters on defense, and our whole offense comes back. I think this team is a better football team. We're more mature. I'm looking forward to a run at the Super Bowl.
Cortland is awesome. :thumbsup Sounds like our guys are confident in themselves and that's good to hear.

Sometimes I have negative opinions about players, coaches, and the front office, or maybe the team in general. I'm a pessimist, a "glass half-empty" kind of guy.
But if there is one player on the Titans I openly worship, whom I hold up as an example to behold in all phases of life, it is Cortland Finnegan. The man came from a small school, and worked his butt off to do his best, and earned a chance at the pros. He's continued to work as hard as anybody can and has worked himself up to true pro-bowl status. He says the right things during interviews, he has shown he has a great sense of humor, he has already established a charity and a culture and spirit of generosity surround him.

I know it's on the main page on titanstailgate.com but I was excited to see that the question I asked Cortland Finnegan was mentioned in Paul Kuharsky's AFC South blog:
"Cortland Finnegan on the potential for more towel stomping: "No, absolutely not. Certain individuals may do that, but that's not what this team is all about. That's not what this coach is about, that's not what our team is about. You do it in between the lines ... the rest of it is unacceptable." Read the test of his chat at NFL.com here. "

LenDale on Finnegan's comments:
"That's football to me. I have fun with the game and like I said, if Troy and Willie Parker and Big Ben... if me stepping on that towel made them want to win a championship even hard then I feel bad for their coaches anyways. If me and Keith Bullock... if me stepping on your towel made them win a super bowl they god they better hope we step on it again this year right? We go out there and play, we love this game. you brought your towel into our stadium, that's our house and we defend it how we defend it. Cortland defends it how he does. He get his personal fouls and his fines and that's what he does."
From Jim Wyatt's blog. People still can't spell Keith's name right. :slap

For me, it was fun to watch LenDale stomping on that towel. At the end that game meant who was the best team and who was going to receive playoffs at home (too much for us, huh?).
Adding those things to a game (like stomping a rag) it's only a way to show determination. A rag was stomped..not a person or a player.
I hope that Finnegan's comments doesn't create a trouble or division in the locker room. He was only been honest, and intelligent at the same time. He was not going to make that a bigger issue.

I agree I thought stomping the towel was great but would I say do it again this coming season if we were to win? No, it's done and over with. We would have beat the steelers again had we not lost to the Ravens with a combo of our own fumbles and their cheap shot or should I say bend of CJ. Oh and don't forget the expired play clock!

Crumpler's fumble was more hurtful than the one White did. I'm saying this in terms on how things weighted during that game.
What was totally unexpected was that delay of game not marked as you say. There are not only several referees on the field, but there is another one in the upper deck, that checks and calls the main refree when those things happen...but that refree was unexistant and then every other referee on the field was blind?
Those ratbirds get their dirty calls done.

To stomp or not to stomp? I was sick of this story last season, and it is going to be all the talk from here until we play the the Steelers. I DREAD it. this is part of the reason I wish it had not happened. Glad we could stomp and go home the first round....:( Save the childish crap for T.O. go out and play and let winning do all the talking.
The upper cut from Lendale is understandable, Finnegan has pissed me off a few times, but at least he is playing on the field and not with towels when the game is over.

hmmm, i really hope lendale and finny are cool, cause i really dont know if that was a shot at cortland or if thats "lendale" humor.
cause i know he is good friends with deangelo williams, and with that whole smash and dash thing he was taking shots at him too...but it was friendly. i hope it was friendly in this case.

Finnegan Calls Out Towel-Stomping Teammates
Posted by Mike Florio on May 12, 2009, 10:19 p.m. EDT
A regular-season win over the Steelers last December gave the Titans home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
Which they squandered by losing to the Ravens in the divisional round.
Some would say that the Titans were the victims of a little Myron Cope karma, given that some of the players opted to disrespect the Terrible Towel at the tail end of Tennessee’s win over Pittsburgh.
Now, cornerback Cortland Finnegan has called out the guys who danced on the rectangular chunk of yellow material, during a chat on NFL.com (via JJ Cooper of Fanhouse).
“Certain individuals may do that, but that’s not what this team is all about,” Finnegan said. “That’s not what this coach is about, that’s not what our team is about. You do it in between the lines . . . the rest of it is unacceptable.”
Uh oh.
If/when LenDale White breaks his current diet, Finnegan might be in danger of being eaten. :lmao
