I'll be getting several tickets. Half- a billion? It's worth a shot.

If I win I'll come down and buy everyone drinks all night long.

I think I'd have no choice but to share $540M dollars... I don't know what I'd do with that much money?!

I'd buy a really cool, and completely over-the-top, tailgating setup for everyone to use at tailgates.

I posed this question on another board, but is there a level where a billionaire should just buy one of every number (around 173 million tickets)? Not only would they guarantee to win a share of the jackpot, but they would also collect on 45 5-number tickets ($11.25 million). The big problem is that there is a decent chance of a shared jackpot, and if enough people hit it, the investment wouldn't be worth it. (not to mention the logistics of buying that many tickets)

The machines cannot spit out all the combinations in a 3 day period....That's why they make the draw twice a week, it keeps poeple from trying just waht you said....It has been tried.

BTW, Jackpot up to 640 million.

Thanks, Parddy. This article also explains it.

With a jackpot so large, someone theoretically could buy up every possible number combination, thereby guaranteeing a winning ticket — but doing so would mean putting up millions of dollars on the front end.

Then there’s logistics. First, if it takes five seconds to fill out each card, you’d need almost 28 years just to mark the bubbles on the game tickets. You’d also use up the national supply of special lottery paper and lottery-machine printing ink well before all your tickets could be printed out.

A jackpot this large also means a greater chance of multiple winners. And if you have to share the jackpot with even one other winner, you’ll be down tens of millions of dollars.

We should have Titans player numbers as our numbers.

Only two numbers matched that way...Bironas and Harper.

Who wants to do a weekly or bi-weekly lottery thread? All who enter a ticket will be included?

So it's been a week, and no one has actually claimed anything yet. :huh

The only news so far is the McDonald's employee in Baltimore claims to have won but hasn't found the ticket yet. It doesn't help that she is in charge of a work lottery pool, but bought this ticket on her own. However, the ticket was bought on it's own, so it supports her claim.

I saw an interview with a spokesman for the Maryland lottery and he said that there was definitely a winning ticket sold to someone in that area 4 hours before the drawing. So her story does hold water, but apparently she hid the ticket on McDonalds property somewhere... what a weird story this has turned into. Sounds like she doesn't wanna share the money??
