“This is how I feel — if you want to see the Pittsburgh Steelers, invite us when we don’t win the Super Bowl,” Harrison said. “As far as I’m concerned, [Obama] would’ve invited Arizona if they had won.”

Well no **** he would've invited the Cardinals if they won, it's kinda part of the tradition. You think he's gonna invite the losers just because he picked you to win?

My stance is, when the President invites you to the White House (as an individual or a unit), you go. Whether you like the man, voted for him, agree with him, whatever, you go out of respect for the office.

What a freakin' idiot. Of course he doesn't want to "meet" the Steelers, he wants to acknowledge the efforts of the SUPERBOWL champions. There could be an argument for better use of a presidents time, but it is tradition none the less to highlight great achievments. Just stupid, Harrison must be shocked when people don't know who he is, or care for his autograph.

Just posting to say Harrison is a retard. Nothing else really to say Chris Chase said it all in this article. :slap

But, just like in 2006 when the Steelers had a post-title meeting with George W. Bush, defensive MVP (and Super Bowl hero) James Harrison won't be in attendance.

At least he's consistent with his stupidity.

"As far as I'm concerned, James Harrison is sort of a fool. If he doesn't want to go to the White House, fine. (Although I can't imagine why anybody wouldn't want to meet the President of the United States.) But don't make a lame excuse in an attempt to justify your decision. Leave that for NFL referees. "

funny ending. And true, James Harrison is a fool, no better way to put it.

James Harrison, now that the Steelers have won the Super Bowl, what do you plan to do?

"Well I'm NOT going to Disney World because they didn't invite me before we won the Super Bowl so why should I go now?"

Jones31

Probably because Mickey didn't invite him before.

Particularly ironic in that Obama just appointed Rooney as the Ambassador to Ireland. Way to insult your President, Owner, and Country all in one fell swoop, James!

Aside from him being required to fulfill a job/team requirement. I have no problem not going to see the President. Last time I check, it's a free country with free speech. We may not agree with it, but he really doesn't have to validate why he won't go. Politics and my sports are not a good marriage.

As for respect the office .. been hard to do for some time. Respect is earned. Present administration included.

I would have preferred if he hadn't said anything. His comment came across as whiney to me and I can't stand hearing or reading that. Unless I'm the one whining, of course :D

As to the rest of your comments, I can respect your view :)

At times my ship needs it's course adjusted and my eyes are ever towards a better horizon. A funky way of saying I like peoples opinions because when my views are challenged I get to see where I really stand. :)

I really could give a rat's behind what James Harrison does or does not do. I'm just pissed he didn't get any sort of penalty at all for what he did to that dude in the SB this year.

Was he ever fined for that?

Maybe it's a good thing he didn't go:

An unidentified neighbor told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette one of the star player's three dogs got loose Thursday and attacked the boy, James III. His age was not immediately available.

PITTSBURGH -- Steelers linebacker James Harrison's toddler son remained at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Friday after being badly bitten by one of his father's pet dogs.

WTAE Channel 4 Action News broke the story at noon that 1-year-old James Harrison III has severe but not life-threatening injuries.

Since then, the NFL's defensive player of the year has returned to his Franklin Park home, where reporter Ari Hait learned new details from a woman who survived the attack.....

The owner, not the breed. Both, it happens too often with that breed.

Both, it happens too often with that breed.

True, but I believe it has more to do with a particular type of person (assholes) being attracted to the imagery of the dog, and encouraging that sort of behavior.

Ferrari's don't speed, owner's do.

Any dog can be trained to be aggressive.

This.

I knew what kind of dog it was not because of the attack, but because of whose it was.

I have a pit-bird dog mix and she is the best dog I have ever owned. I don't think she was mean enough for her previous owner's liking. She lived at a church for awhile and everyone played with and petted her. They even let her play with the daycare kids, I know she is probably the exception, but most animals are what you make them.

Maybe he roided up the dog like he does himself...

I hope the kid is alright...
