He announced a lot more than that. He came out swinging and showed that he is going to be controversial in everything he does for NBC.

His comments about the hit he put on Rice shows why I stopped liking him. He was actually one of my favorite players to watch while he was on the Chargers. I always hoped he'd play the game a little bit cleaner though and when he finally showed me that he thought his cheap shots were perfectly fine then I lost respect for him. Playing the game hard is one thing. Actually trying to hit players in positions where they could really hurt themselves is another.

I'm thinking with both Harrison and Dungy going to NBC, they should do the world a favor and keep Collinsworth out of the booth.

And with the announcement of his retirement, James Andrews and concussion specialists just shed a tear for their loss of revenue, a lot less ACL surgeries to worry about with that cheap shot artist out of the league.

LOL, Rodney didn't make a lot of friends along the way. :lol

But he was one of those guys... if he's on your team, you love him. If not, he's evil. (Think Keith Bullock.)

it irritates me that nbc picked him up. yes the guy is probably going to get people to tune in because much like a train wreck people just can't stop watching. but what does it say to young football players that are tuning in and hearing him say that a $100,000 was worth is to see some playmaker injured? that helmet to helmet, despite all the studies that show the damage that can and will be done, is fine because it's not pansy football. Way to go nbc, way to go. I'll be using my mute button again this year.

He did pretty good on NFLN during the playoffs.
