• Quarterback Patrick Ramsey signed with the Tennessee Titans, knowing he would have to enter training camp as the third-stringer.

He has his sights set on winning a battle with Vince Young to claim the second spot behind starter Kerry Collins.

“That’s the situation I’m faced with,” Ramsey said. “Honestly, what I intend to do is come in here and play as well as I can and let that take care of itself.

• Offseason Standout: Defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch(notes), after struggling through a groin injury that ruined his 2008 season, appears to be back healthy and ready to pick up where he left off...

• Lineup Watch: With Haynesworth gone to Washington, the Titans are shuffling a bit on the defensive line to see where all the pieces fit...

-Tony Brown has shifted from left defensive tackle to right..
-Jovan Haye and second-year man Jason Jones are rotating mostly on the left side..
- Jevon Kearse, slowed by a knee injury, Dave Ball(notes) has been working with the first unit.

• Rookie Impressions: While wide receiver Kenny Britt, has gotten much of the attention just by being a first-rounder, the rookie to make the biggest impression in OTAs has been third-round tight end Jared Cook...

• Injury Watch: Veteran center Kevin Mawae has said he has no plans to retire, but he has missed the entire off-season because of major elbow surgery...

• Contract To Watch: The Titans have at least 13 contracts that are up at the end of 2009, with many of them being key players in key positions. The two most interesting, however, are Vanden Bosch and linebacker Keith Bulluck, two vital cogs in the defense. Thus far, little to no negotiations on extensions have taken place. The Titans are apparently in wait-and-see mode with the two 30-something stars. From Yahoo Sports (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=AuxaWj05MtEKNseZK5AcUMFDubYF?slug=teamre ports-2009-nfl-ten&prov=sportsxchange&type=team_report)

This is a good report that sums up the 2009 Offseason.

We still need to wait on the new rookie signings, to see if Bulluck and Vanden Bosch are re-signed throughout this season and /or before F.A. opens in 2010...

...oh yeah, and to see how many replies Chris Johnson receives, to find out his touchdown celebrations :crazy (I only want him to have a solid 2nd season...celebrations are meh! )

I still would be shocked if a QB with a total of 24 starts (10-14 record) in seven seasons somehow beat Vince Young (29 starts, 18-11 record, 3 seasons) for the #2 spot.

The more I read, the higher I'm getting on Cook. Dare I to hope he is the second coming of Frank ? Too soon, I know. But I'm getting very optimistic about our boys.

I will still have to see that to believe it. I certainly think it quite possible for Vince Young to beat out Collins for the job, but it is another for it to actually happen.

I agree.

I honestly see Young starting again until 2010...if he is really doing things accurately and properly. No need to say about the mental part. That's implicit into all.

I'm right there with you. Right after we signed him I started thinking about Frank and I didn't do that with any of our other TE's.

You cheeky monkey :) Bo is still great, but they are a different animal all together. What it means for us ( if he pans out ) is flexibility. We are not an easy team to game plan for. More options for us = more headaches for them :D
