I can't help but worry they're gonna "gimmick" their way out of that match, by having it end in a draw, a double-count out, a double-pin, outside interference, or something goofy like that. I just can't see either of these guys letting there be a clean finish.

We have to discuss what Jericho did to Rick Flair.
Here are my points of view:
-I think that Flair is too old to recieve a whooping like the one he recieved.
-Rick Flair's legacy is too much to let be squashed as it was under the hands of someone that hasn't offered that much, IMO.
-Flair's retirement match against HBK was a good decision. HBK is an important and legendary wrestler in the WWE know...that's what I think it was the right way to go.
-Four legendary stars, HOFers will wrestle against Jericho at Wrestlemania...I hope they beat Jericho and hard as they can.

Jericho I think is awesome and has been since he started in WWE all those years ago. Jericho is one of those vintage true heels who can just get so much heat and knows how to draw a crowd against him. I think he's done a great job with this angle. His mic work has been the best maybe in the business since he went heel.
Jericho's done a lot, at least from my pov, mainly being the first Undisputed Champion (beating Rock and Austin in the same night). I think he's always put on great matches and I always enjoy watching him work.
Jericho will lose but I can't wait for the match. Jericho won't disappoint.

I thought it works. I mean Flair's clearly past his time, Jericho's in his prime. It gets mad heat for Jericho and just makes the reaction for his eventual defeat much sweeter for the majority of fans.
If anyone could sell that beating, it's Naitch.

Too make it more clear...I don't think that Flair deserved that type of heat, but that's how story-lines are worked sometimes...

I think Flair caught the beating because he's the mouthpiece of these Legends, plus he could sell it better than the other guys sold theirs.

They should end the show, end of discussion. If you were to poll the 70,000 attending this Sunday, I would bet at least 50,000 would tell you that match is the one they can't wait for. I'm willing to bet it has crowd heat at the same level as Austin Rock at X7, or Rock/Hogan at Toronto. In both cases, the crowds were just insane for both wrestlers...and made the matches that much better.

I don't need the spoiler. Taker is winning. Michaels has done the job for Hogan, Cena etc. I have no doubt he will do it again. They've made the streak bigger than life, and they can't have it end. At least to Michaels. Not sure if there is a wrestler out there (active) that McMahon would deem worthy of ending the streak.

I think HBK and Taker should be good. Edge usually puts on a show, but with Cena and Big Show, I don't know how good it's going to be. Orton and Trips should be good as well. It's really a great card all over. Hardy v. Hardy is on there. 25 Diva battle royal (giddyup). Jericho vs. the Legends with Rourke ringside.
I'll have predictions up on Sunday.

Hardy v Hardy - hoping they can repeat the magic of Owen vs. Bret...
I'm actually not that excited about MITB - Mark Henry sucks, I'm bored with Kane, Finlay is filler, and other than MVP and Christian and to a lesser extent CM Punk, these guys aren't exciting guys I expect to move to main event status.
Taker/Michaels is going to be great, but they've had incredible matches already. Their casket and Hell in the Cell matches were must sees. They're both much older and slower now. It will be much more about a rabid crowd IMO, which made Hogan/Rock a classic.

Triple Threat World Heavyweight Championship Match
Edge © vs. The Big Show vs. John Cena
Tom's Pick: John Cena. Not happy about this. Go Edge.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
WWE Championship Match
Triple H © vs. Randy Orton
Tom's Pick: Triple H. I have no problem with either winning but I'd love to see Orton win.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Money in the Bank Ladder Match
CM Punk vs. Kane vs. Mark Henry vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. MVP vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Christian vs. Finlay
Tom's Pick: Christian. I think MVP winning the strap last night sort of eliminates him but I could see him winning as well.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
25-Diva Battle Royal
Featuring Divas from Raw, SmackDown, ECW and the past.
Winner becomes first ever Ms. WrestleMania
Tom's Pick: I'll go with Mickie James but I get a feeling Trish will come back and win this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels
Tom's Pick: Undertaker. Too easy.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Legends Handicap Match
Jimmy Snuka, Roddy Piper & Ricky Steamboat w/ Ric Flair (Rourke at Ringside) vs. Chris Jericho
Tom's Pick: Legends. Damn shame too.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unified Tag Team Championship Lumberjack Match
The Colons vs. Miz and Morrison
Tom's Pick: Miz and Morrison. Be Jealous!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Intercontinental Championship Match
JBL vs. Rey Mysterio
Tom's Pick: Rey Mysterio. I could honestly care less. Talk about uninspired.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Extreme Rules Match
Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy.

I was completely stunned at the HHH/Orton match. The booking of the match, with each of them easily able to hit their finishers on each other as a first move, was wrong. Made each of their finishers look weak IMO. Worse was the sound 'taboo' that hit, as well as the complete plastering HHH gave Orton. There were plenty of ways for Orton to keep his heat and look strong, but the WWE decided it was HHH's show - awful ending and I have no clue how they expect to resurrect Orton tomorrow.
I have so much love for the Taker/Michaels match. It really did take your breath away...here were two guys that have already earned their places in the HOF/Pantheon, have tons of battle scars and all - but threw everything they had to give Reliant one of the greatest Wrestlemania matches ever - it really did tell a great story, kept Michaels at a level where he looked like the best Undertaker had ever faced, and the false finishes were just terrific booking. Loved Taker's creative ways to set up the Tombstones. Great stuff to keep a 15 year move look that damn fresh. As good as Steamboat/Savage. Michaels/Hart, Michaels/Ramon, Hart/Hart and Hart/Austin were, I think this one may have exceeded them. It really should have ended the show - makes you wish one of them had been wearing a belt going into the match.
I thought the finish of the Hardy match was also perfect, with a brutal ending that looked legit painful. That twist of fate with Jeff's head in the chair looked nasty as hell.
That was a frigging great crowd. Goes to show you, a live crowd like that makes this an even better spectacle.

Because Triple H and co. buries him. Orton becomes the youngest champ in history. Reign ended by Triple H in less than a month. Then this time they build him up like a real threat to everyone and he just gets destroyed with a sledgehammer and dominated.
The match was poorly run by both men and was rushed. It was a terrible way to end the show and creative should be ashamed for letting that end the show the way it did. It could have been done so much better.
They need to figure a way to fix this tonight. I would have had no problem with Trips winning had they made it seem somewhat competitive.

I agree. After a long time standing Orton's "mental disorder" and ending it by saying "I was aware of everything I made" to harass HHH and the McMahon's...was kind of not a good unfolding into that story line. I agree, that the match at Wrestlemania should had been a more titilating and longer one, though.
I had been saying (posting) that for more than a year now Tom. The WWE creative department is getting lousy. There isn't too much material to cut from, since Stone Cold, Foley and a couple of other guys left....retired, I should say.
They should be in the urge of finding new and interesting talent or this is on danger to become as stale as it can be.

One thing I don't want to hear is that these guys didn't want to follow up Taker/Michaels. That's BS. You are main eventing Wrestle-frigging-mania. Step up and knock it out of the park. More opinions I have from Wrestlemania:
According to me...Wrestlemania is the most important event in the WWE.
These are the things I didn't agree with:
-To have the Money in the Bank first. Kane looked like a fool when Shelton Benjamin jumped from the top of the ladder, and wasn't even close to Kane. No matter that, Kane fells down? :huh
-The match with the Divas to find "Miss Wrestlemania" was totally a joke, since the story-writters thought that Santino could be a good bust. I think that those beautiful ladies, wrestle very well and they need more respect in what they do...they are also very nice looking almost all of them. Who is making and authorizing those story lines are quite nuts and it's not nice to do that.
Jericho against the HOFers...not a good exciting match. I expected more coming from it. But it was decent.
I liked the rest of the matches. Undertaker and HBK know their business quite well. They put a HECK of a match.
The Hardie's match was a very tough one as well. I think that Jeff will be the next greatest WWE true super star.
Orton's story line is death. I think that he should change to a face one, to give a refreshment to his character. The ultra-heel one, never convinced me.
The match against Triple H was a good one. Triple H has his place safe at the HOF.
..and it was great to see Stone Cold back. His retirement was a premature one..but I bet it was because his knees couldn't take it anymore.
TitanTom0987

The Orton/Trips match was terrible. I can't stress how pitiful of a display it was. The company hated it, most of the fans hated it. It sucked hard. They both hit their finishers in about 45 seconds and totally weakened both of them. Then they rush the finish after a boring match.
Also, Orton as a heel = ownage. Orton as a face = terrible.

In no order, people who have played heels I like better than Orton.
Triple H

Big Show is important? The only reason he's been in the WWE this long is because of the stupid contract he got when he left WCW.

It's only that I saw that coming. Since the feud he started with Orton, that was somewhat a "given".

Big Show is adding that type of tough heel that the WWE needs (since they decided to give the "kissing camera" to Kahli and now starting his "hunt" for "Santina".. :huh

I stopped watching wrestling for probably 3 years and am nowhere near the fan I used to be. He must have left during my "hiatus".
I'll change what I said to "Big Show is only around because Vince has a thing for really big guys even if they have very little talent".

Both Orton and Edge are 100 times better heels than Big Show is. The only time Big Show ever had a good storyline was when he first premiered in WCW and they made it seem like he was Andre's kid. He was used as an enforcer and not as a wrestler. Once they made him get in the ring he showed why he shouldn't have been in the business.
Now, I'll give it to you that he is much better than he was then, but there are many more guys out of the WWE that deserve to be there more.

Big Show is not the heel the WWE needs. He always gets beat. DX shoved Vince McMahon's head up his ass, and now he's having an affair with Vickie? I never bought him as a heel. He always played a better face imo. He always got the most crowd reaction (positive or negative) when he would come out to make a save. He's 7'2 and 400+ yet he never wins jack squat. He has no staying power as a heel. Time to become a full fledged face Show.
That's just my two cents.

Well, it was awesome until the last two matches. When your two main events both suck ass (the last one in particular), the card loses a little luster.
Hell, they had a live crowd and the main event just left Reliant dead. Compare that with Rock/Austin at X7 at the Astrodome. That was a main event that delivered the goods, and that was after an incredible card.

Meh, made a lot of people want to watch the next night. Also, people can get behind a "I want the title so bad I'll shake hands with the devil" story....
The HHH/Orton match was the absolute opposite booking-wise. It was unexplainable and left everyone with no interest in what happens next. That's worse-case scenario.

Which is almost as bad as Hogan's boot and leg drop were.
Shawn Michaels elbow off the top rope looks pretty stupid too now that tons of people do some sort of maneuver off the top rope during the middle of matches.

Oh---like Orton's kick to the head, you mean?
Look at the big picture, Tom. Yes, he applied the punch, but actually he managed Cena like a rag doll during all that match.
That's what a heel needs to be, dominating, no holds barred type of wrestler.
That's why I also haven't ever buy Edge's character...being oportunistic is not something I call a good heel. But we have discussed this throughly at the TOMB.

So you're telling me that running up and kicking someone as hard as you can in their head couldn't do major damage, as opposed to one punch?

Thoughts.
First off, Jericho and Mysterio was awesome. The finish with Jericho unmasking Mysterio and getting the pin off the 619 was epic. It's gonna be a great feud.
Tommy Dreamer + ECW Championship = All being right with the world
On to the cage match, word leaks last night before the show Batista has a torn bicep, yet they go ahead with the title switch regardless in what felt like a seven minute title match, which would confirm that theory. The whole match was garbage, which is to be expected with Botchista is involved, but this whole thing stinks. I was hoping that Triple H would come back and screw Batista for inadvertently screwing him at Backlash. Either way, look for a possible drop of the strap tonight on Raw.
Cena still sucks and that match sucked. That is all.
Now this match saved the night. Hardy and Edge put on an amazing show. They had crazy spot after crazy spot. The midair Twist of Fate was sick and so was both of them falling off of a ladder through a ladder set up from the apron to the railing, snapping it in half.
Too bad Jeff was only champ for about four minutes cause he got Punk'd. Crowd's reaction was priceless, stunned silence. Hardy's fans are probably rolling up their Hardy armsleeves right now to start cutting themselves. I hope this leads to a Punk heel turn.

Umaga was released. The WWE was actually nice to him in giving him one last PPV match.
The Jeff Hardy results aren't that shocking if you look at everything going on with him. The WWE would love to commit to him if they ever thought they could without him screwing things up somehow. He currently is in a contract dispute and reportedly wants to take an extended break. Can't put the title on someone who wont be there.

Whatever you are talking about hasn't happened yet here on the west coast but I feel I am safe to say yes. She is one of the most annoying and worst personalities WWE has had on and that is saying a lot.
There is good news though. Apparently she just gave notice because she wants to spend more time with her kids, so soon the only ones that will have to listen to her are them.

So, I just saw Vicki tonight and I was wrong. She somehow managed to make herself even more annoying.
I also just got to see HHH's burial of Legacy and Orton. Stuff like this is why I stopped watching wrestling for 5 or 6 years. You have Orton who has been dominating the rest of your roster and has been carrying RAW while HHH was out. Then HHH comes back and he single handedly dismantled these three. Lets ignore the fact that DiBiase and Rhodes were destroyed from one hit to the chest. Lets ignore the fact that 10 minutes later they were still laying motionless as if they were knocked out. Lets just focus on the fact that HHH just made Orton look like he was some prepubescent kid getting smacked around by his older brother. If HHH can do this to Orton and Orton can run over pretty much everyone else then why are we supposed to ever believe that some other guy on the roster will have a chance at beating HHH?
I hated the WWE when Hogan had free reign to do whatever he wanted and I didn't even know about backstage politics back then. I hated the WWE when the Clique could kill someone and Vince would still give them whatever they wanted. Then we come to the last 10 years or so which have been pretty much run by HHH and his friends. This period consists of HHH dominating most competition, but he doesn't get a completely horrible reputation because he does let some younger guys get the upper hand on him. The problem is that those young are friends of HHH. Batista's lack of talent and lack of charisma on the mic should have limited him to being a full time midcard wrestler, but he's friends with HHH so of course he gets better treatment.
I miss Haystacks Calhoun and the Sheik :sad

What exactly did they do wrong? You're not thinking that was real, are you? The WWE has almost always done this when one of their champions gets hurt. They didn't break his arm last night. They made it look like they did so that he has a reason to be off the air so that he can have surgery on his torn biceps muscle and recover from it.

Seeing as how the 4 horseman were wildly popular even as heals I would guess that more people see it as entertainment than there are those that don't.
Hell, look at how WCW actually got themselves noticed on Monday nights. Before the NWO invasion WCW had a mediocre Monday night show that had a fraction of the audience that WWF did. The hit and run attacks that the NWO would use each Monday night got fans to tune in to see what was going to happen next.

Tell me what would be better for them to say.
Dave Batista will be out 6 to 8 weeks because he tore his biceps while lifting weights (last I heard they weren't sure how he got hurt).
Or
Dave Batista will be out 6 to 8 weeks due to the broken arm he suffered in a horrific attack by Randy Orton.
One makes one of their top wrestlers look like an injury prone guy. The other says that the top heel in the company viciously attacked one of the top faces and put him out. One of the stories does nothing to help the company. The other gives credibility to the top heel in the company and builds a lot of heat for their feud that will continue once Batista comes back.
