Tennessee Titans cornerback Cortland Finnegan is an antagonist on the field.
Some NFL wide receivers even go as far as to call him a dirty player.
He picks at receivers. He changes their routes. He gets in their heads.
On Tuesday and Wednesday the Milton High grad returned to his alma mater and got into the heads of nearly 100 youth football players at Milton High School.
But it was completely different.
Finnegan, an All-Pro in his third season, showed his antics in the NFL stay in the NFL. He was kind, humble, generous — three things many star athletes are not.
He took the time to talk to players and parents. And not because he had to.
No one makes a Pro Bowl cornerback sit down with every kid in the camp and talk about life.
That's right, life.
Finnegan was more interested in knowing these kids were getting their life in order and making good decisions than he was in whether they understood bump-and-run coverage.
