Titans, Vanden Bosch hold preliminary talks

The Tennessee Titans have been holding on-going discussions with the agent for defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch, though talks remain in the preliminary stages.

Vanden Bosch, who came to the Titans in 2005 and has twice been selected to the Pro Bowl since that time, is entering the final year of his current deal, one of many Titans starters who could be eligible for free agency after the 2009 season.

Vanden Bosch’s agent, Tony Agnone, indicated Friday that the Titans have been talking to him about a potential extension for the defensive end, and that Vanden Bosch is interested in remaining in Tennessee, but that talks are still slow in terms of progress.

“We’ve been dialoging all the way,” Agnone said. “We’re not intensely negotiating, btu we’re just trying figure out where each other is coming from.

“With the [Steve] McNair situation, and what’s going on with the rookies, I assume we’ll eventually get down to it. But they wanted to reach out and tell us that they want him and we wanted to reach out and tell them we’d like to do something.”

As long as he isn't trying to be the highest paid DE, we should extend him IMO.

If we could lock up him, Bulluck, and LenDale it would be great, but I only think we can get 2 of the 3. Bummer.

often injured? in his 4 years here, he's only had 1 injury plagued year. And if it comes down to just being able to sign 2 of the 3 between KVB, Bulluck, or White, we'll be in big trouble either way, cuz if im not mistaken we have Scaife, , Tony Brown, and Dave Ball ( i realize there are more, but i think these are the most likely to be resign, if any) All these guys I think are worthy of sum more years in tennessee, well maybe except White, pending on what he can do this year, if he's still just a goaline back, maybe for a cheap contract.

I'm fine with waiting a few games to see how he's recovered from last season but if he's back to form he deserves to be paid in the top ten, IMO. Maybe not top 5 but between 5 and 10.
